📢 Join us tomorrow for Rotary!

The Rotary Club of Benton-Bauxite will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, at noon at Wood Grill Buffet in Benton!

This week's program will feature Casey Covington, Executive Director of
Metroplan , who will share insights into the growth and development happening across Central Arkansas, including Benton and Saline County.

Casey has served as Metroplan's Executive Director since 2023 and brings extensive experience in transportation planning, infrastructure improvements, and regional development.

With Saline County's population estimated to have grown 7.7% since 2020, we'll hear more about what this growth means for our communities and how regional planning is helping prepare for the future.

🌟 The Benton-Bauxite Rotary Club was honored to welcome Rotary District 6170 Governor Shawnee Cooper as our program Tuesday afternoon!

A Saline County native, Governor Cooper shared updates from across District 6170 and Rotary International 🌎, including efforts to grow Rotary membership and strengthen clubs throughout the district. She also discussed Rotary’s continued work toward the global eradication of polio, with World Polio Day coming up on October 24. 💜

đź“… Governor Cooper highlighted several upcoming opportunities for Rotarians, including the District Rotary Foundation Dinner on November 7, the Heart to Heart service project, and RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards).

Governor Cooper and her husband, Dennis Cooper, a Past District Governor, have deep roots in Rotary and helped establish the Saline County Afterhours Rotary Club.

👏 Thank you, Governor Cooper, for joining us and sharing what’s happening across District 6170 and Rotary around the world!

Leadership, service, and fellowship were on full display at today’s Benton-Bauxite Rotary Club meeting!

One of the highlights of the afternoon was our annual Changing of the Gavel ceremony. Incoming President Trevor Villines had the privilege of recognizing Immediate Past President Stuart Norton for his outstanding leadership and dedication as Club President from 2024–2026.

Stuart’s commitment to Rotary and our community has helped our club grow, serve others, and create lasting relationships. In appreciation for his years of faithful service, he was presented with a commemorative gavel plaque along with a gift card to Wright’s Bar-B-Que. Thank you, Stuart, for your servant leadership and for leaving the club in such a strong position. We appreciate all you’ve done and look forward to continuing to serve alongside you.

Club Secretary Pam Gibson also shared an outstanding presentation on the history of Rotary and the significance of the Paul Harris Fellow Program—one of Rotary’s highest recognitions for service and charitable giving.
