Before we officially open registration & kick off the 2026 STL Cure Sarcoma race season, we want to take a moment to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Brian Van Tine, whose impact on the sarcoma community will never be forgotten. 🌻

We know that Dr. Van Tine was a nationally respected sarcoma specialist and researcher. He dedicated his career to advancing treatments and improving outcomes for patients facing this rare cancer. His work helped shape one of the leading sarcoma programs in the country, and his compassion left a lasting mark on the patients and families he cared for. 💛

To us, he was even more than a physician and researcher, he was a visionary. He believed his patients deserved not only better treatments, but also a strong, supportive community.

That vision led to him hand-picking our founder, Felicia Doll & the founding committee that created STL Cure Sarcoma 6K Run/Walk in 2014, bringing together patients, families, and supporters to raise funds and move research forward.

Today, we carry that vision with us.

💛 We support the community he believed in.
💛 We continue the fight for better treatments and, one day, a cure

And as we move forward, we remain committed to supporting the research and work of those who stood beside him, ensuring his impact continues for years to come.

Rare Disease Day, observed on the last day of February, aims to raise awareness for the millions affected by rare diseases, including sarcoma.

At STL Cure Sarcoma, our mission is to support research and education about sarcoma, advocate for better patient outcomes, and promote awareness of this often-overlooked disease.

We strive to create a supportive community for patients and their loved ones, improve treatment options, and ultimately enhance survival rates for those impacted by sarcoma.

Today, we stand with everyone affected by cancer and we shine a light on sarcoma, a rare and complex group of cancers with over 100 subtypes that impacts children, adults, veterans, and families alike.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our country and the strength, sacrifice, and courage that define them.

At STL Cure Sarcoma, our mission is deeply connected to the veteran community. Many veterans and their families have faced sarcoma diagnoses, some linked to Agent Orange or Burn Pit exposure during their service. Their resilience continues to inspire our work every day.

We remember the heroes who fought battles both on the field and in hospital rooms, and we stand beside those who continue to fight today. Your service reminds us why research, awareness, and advocacy matter so deeply.

To all veterans: thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your continued strength. 💛

We loved seeing all the smiles, team spirit, and special moments at this year’s STL Cure Sarcoma Race, but we need your HELP capturing them all!

Our social media coordinator also doubles as our basket raffle organizer, and since the raffle table was non-stop busy (thank you for that! 🙌), she didn’t get to take as many photos as she’d hoped.

What an incredible weekend. The 2025 STL Cure Sarcoma Race reminded us once again why this community is so special.

Every step, every cheer, and every hug reflected the strength and love that fuels our mission. The positive energy throughout the park was undeniable. It was a mix of hope, remembrance, and unity that can only come from people who truly care. 💛

This event isn’t just a race. It’s a day where warriors, survivors, families, and supporters come together. We are all here to lift one another up, to carry the load when our Warriors are too tired.... keeping them going when treatments, scans, and appointments have drained every ounce of energy.

🌻 To our warriors: your courage is what inspires every mile.

🫶 To our families and supporters: thank you for being the hands that steady the hearts of those in the fight.
