Big day at the shop/Resource Center.

We had the pleasure of hosting teachers from a number of school districts including -

Centralia
Carbondale
Trinity
Benton Grade School
Ewing
Head Start
Farrington
Harrisburg
Akin
Field
Bethel
Benton High School
St. John’s
Galatia
Unity
Mt. Vernon High School

We also were able to provide wardrobes for foster kiddos in Carterville and beds for a foster family in Marion.

Thanks for all who support us! We continue to grow at a rapid rate and couldn’t do it without you!

September is our anniversary month, and this year, we begin our 26th year of existence.

Unlike most businesses, our beginning, quite literally, came from an ending that nearly happened.

Nearly 26 years ago:

Letters were written.
Exit plans were made.
One-sided goodbyes were said.
And peace, or so I thought, was found.

Then, a knot slipped.
A board broke.

A new plan was made.
My brain would have to be reprogrammed.
And, eventually, a new path became clear.

But with every anniversary comes a fleeting moment of mixed emotions.

When I think back to my demeanor that day, I remember how collected I felt—or at least how collected I thought I was.

I remember how accepting I was of what I believed was the inevitable end.

That memory can still freeze me, if only for a moment.

There is a fundamental truth that can sometimes be difficult to grasp: our beginnings, no matter how painful, will always remain a part of our story.

But we move forward.

We celebrate the victories.
We remember how far we've come.
And most importantly, we recognize that we are still here.

There is still work to be done.

And for 26 years, we've kept moving forward.

Here's to another year.
