This week, we are celebrating our seniors and all they have accomplished, but we are also celebrating an incredible victory for students in Polk County.
At Monday night’s meeting, the Polk County School Board committed to funding the JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) program at both Polk County High School and Copper Basin High School. This commitment ensures that JAG can continue serving and supporting students as they prepare for successful futures.
We want to sincerely thank the Polk County School Board members for their support and belief in this program. We also extend our gratitude to Dr. James Jones, Dr. Jason Bell, Dr. Ryan Goodman, Mrs. Rachel Lowe, and Mrs. Holly Smith for standing behind our students and the mission of JAG.
Most importantly, thank you to every student, former student, community member, parent, and guardian who wrote letters to our state representatives and submitted testimonies for the school board. Those testimonies are attached to this post for the public to read. Your voices, your stories, and your support are what made this possible.
JAG’s motto is “Improving young lives forever,” and everyone who wrote in, spoke on behalf of this program, and helped raise and support these seniors is a part of that mission. This achievement belongs to all of you.
Thank you sincerely for believing in our students and investing in the future of Polk County. ❤️
