After much prayer and discussion, Susan and I have decided, with God's timing we must officially bring our non profit food ministry www.deliveringhopeministries.com to its end. It's been our blessing and privilege to serve the fine people of Benton and the surrounding area for the last 3 years.
Over that span of time we were blessed to serve over 2700 home cooked meals, 387 full portioned Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and deliver 113 Christmas presents to children who would have received little to nothing.
The meals meant very little to us as they were more of a way to tell the recipients about the goodness of God. We were blessed that God used Susan and I in a way that brought souls and glory to Him. After all it was His business, He just gave us the keys to run it.
It has truly been a labor of love for us. We've laughed with people, cried with them, hugged and loved on them when they were going through a time when they thought no one cared for them. Susan and I were blessed more than the people we delivered to.
Even had a few doors slammed in our faces once we dropped the dinners off to them. Didn't detour us at all. Even if we didn't get a chance to speak directly to them, each bag had a gospel tract stapled to it...."Steps to Peace with God"
The main reason behind our closure to be honest is finances. We struggled to get corporate sponsors. It cost Susan and I roughly 700.00 a month to keep it running and while the fine people who donated over the years to us through one time or small monthly donations we couldn't rely just on our neighbors to keep repeatedly giving over and over and the finances were just to much to keep us going. That's basically the bottom line....it just took more out of our savings than we could afford.....and that's the ugly truth. But y'all know we've always been up front with everyone. It took all we had and more.
We don't know what God has in store next for us because He has something. We look forward to the next adventure He has planned for us. Having to make this post breaks both of our hearts. We absolutely love our town and the people we were blessed to touch and who touched us during the last 3 years. PLEASE keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate our way through these feelings and emotions.
And as I always say, " WE ARE PROUD BENTONITES AND LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU"!

Sincerely - Steve and Susan Stewart

Please help us by sharing. Susan and I have decided to join Give for Good this year to help boost our donations so we can continue doing what we love and that is helping take care of the infirmed in NW Louisiana by providing meals to each member in the affected household delivered at no charge to help give families a respite from an added chore we take for granted while they recover.
We have to date since we started our non profit 2 1/2 years ago delivered over 2500 meals and more than 100 Christmas presents to children who would have little to nothing for Christmas. In addition we have cooked and delivered close to 300 Thanksgiving & Christmas meals to seniors and the less fortunate as well.
If you can find it in your heart to help us providing for others in this way. Please click on the link and consider donating. Early giving has started today and the final big push give day will be May 6th 2025. God Bless you all for thinking of us.

So....I've been thinking on ways to keep my non profit bank account steady for the work we do. I don't like asking for direct handouts (not that I won't take them mind you) but I need tto do something to keep enough funds coming in to help feed the ones we do.

Would there be an interest if I were to make up several different kinds of soups for a donation of say 8.00 for a 16oz bowl....maybe 10.00 with a dessert and crackers? All proceeds would go into the non profit fund to buy supplies, gas, making up meals for people, license, certificates etc.

The kinds of soups off the top of my head would be a creamy chicken noodle with egg noodles, taco soup, gumbo, chili, vegetable beef, broccolli, chicken and cheddar and any other ideas you guys have. All would be homemade, hearty and healthy.
And btw, Susan and i will be starting back deliveries this coming Monday. Spend the last 2 weeks cooking so the freezer is full. Those meals you can have for a donation to the ministry as well. I will post the menu Monday or Sunday evening.

What do yall thin k about the soup idea? Would there be interest?

About Us

12/22/2024

Hey this is Steve and Susan Stewart from Delivering Hope Ministries. Just wanted to give everyone who is receiving this text our plans for deliveries of Christmas Meals and children presents for tomorrow.
We have many routes and families to cover tomorrow so we have a crew meeting at our church tomorrow to line out routes to delivering as many as possible on the routes so it's not just Susan and I delivering sun up to sun down. We have everyone split into 8 routes so each route.....depending on how long it is shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours tops.
Again, we will meet tomorrow at our church Cross Point Baptist Church on Swan Lake Rd in Bossier to separate meals and presents to the people on each route. For the ones receiving christmas meals they will consist of Cure 81 spiral cut ham, chicken n dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, Hawaiian rolls and thick gourmet chocolate chip cookies by Jennifer Powell (Sweetly Blessed Cookie Company.) Most will be chocolate chip but a few lucky people will get banana pudding and Oreo topped cookies as well. Give her some business and thank me later.
Susan and I will take the longest route from church to Plain Dealing them over to Springhill then over to Homer. When they ring on your doorbell they will identify themselves as Delivering Hope Ministries. That's who most of you know us as.....or just Steve and Susan Stewart. They will ask you if there is anything specially they can pray for/with you about. If you do not wish to you do not have to. God has blessed Susan and I more than we'll ever deserve and we just try and give back by being His hands and feet. One last thing. These presents to the children are not from DHS, their from God for you to give your children. Please do not say their from Mr. Steve or Ms. Susan or Santa. Their from YOU their parents or grandparents or guardian and should be addressed as such. Remember to give God all the glory and have A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
