๐Ÿ‚ Fall in Love with EMpact: Meet Kyle Ulmer!

Some of the biggest EMpacts are the ones you never see. ๐Ÿ’™

For board member Kyle Ulmer of Gateway Bank, being part of EMpact is an opportunity to give kids in our community some of the same experiences that helped shape his own life.

And there's something pretty special about that.

๐Ÿ’™ Why do you love EMpact?

"I love having an opportunity to help children in my community. Sports were very important in my development and I want the kids to have the same experiences."

That's one of the beautiful things about sports. Long after the games are over, the lessons and experiences stay with us. And when those experiences mean something to you, it's only natural to want the next generation to have them, too.

๐Ÿ’™ What's one thing you wish more people knew about EMpact?

"I wish they knew all of the good we get to do in the community. The public gets to see some but not all of the impact we get to make."

And Kyle makes a great point!

We share the pictures, the numbers, the events, and the celebrations. But there are also quiet conversations with parents, equipment pickups, assistance approvals, and little moments of relief that never make it onto Facebook.

Not every EMpact comes with a photo opportunity.
But every single one matters.

๐Ÿ’™ Every kid deserves...
"A chance."

Two words. A whole lot of meaning.
A chance to try. To belong. To grow. To discover something they love.

We're grateful to have Kyle and Gateway Bank represented in the EMpact family, helping us create more of those chances for kids in our community.

๐Ÿ’™ One More Kid. One Helmet. One Chance to Play.

He tried on one helmet.
Too small.
Another.
Not quite right.
Then a third.
That one fit.

He adjusted the chin strap, smiled, and looked over at his mom with the kind of expression that didn't need any words.

Now I can play.

That's it.
That's the story.

There wasn't a giant check presentation.
There wasn't a ceremony.
There wasn't even much fanfare.
There was just a kid who needed a helmet...
and because someone donated one to the Mobile Sports Locker, we had the one he needed.

Sometimes an EMpact looks huge.
And sometimes?
It looks like a helmet that fits.

One less barrier.
One relieved parent.
One more kid in the game. ๐Ÿ’™
That's why we do this.

What an amazing night at GHOST TOWN Presented by Hurricane Creek FCU!! Thanks to everyone who came by and to Hurricane Creek FCU for hosting such a phenomenal event!

We hosted well over 200 people through our Mobile Sports Locker and put over 100 pieces of equipment in the hands of kids in our community!

Weโ€™d call that a huge success!
Until next year!!

๐ŸŽƒ If you need us today, we'll be haunting Ghost Town. ๐Ÿ‘ป

Come find The EMpact One Foundation tonight for treats, smiles, probably a little chaos, and whatever level of Halloween enthusiasm Bekka considers โ€œreasonable.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚
Spoiler alert: it's not reasonable.

But underneath all the costumes and candy is one of our favorite things about events like this: community.

Getting out. Meeting families. Seeing kids having fun. Connecting with the people we're here to serve.

That's a pretty good way to spend an October evening.

๐Ÿ‘ป EMpact is headed to Ghost Town tomorrow!

We're bringing cleats and basketballs and rolling out the trailer for a little spooky-season fun, and we can't wait to see some familiar faces. ๐ŸŽƒ

If you're headed to Ghost Town tomorrow, be sure to find The EMpact One Foundation Mobile Sports Locker and say hello!

We promise we're friendly.
Mostly. ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ‚ Fall in Love with EMpact: Meet Jacob Stone!

Getting a kid into the game is important.
Keeping them there matters just as much. ๐Ÿ’™

For EMpact board member Jacob Stone, that's one of the reasons this mission means so much.

When we asked Jacob why he loves EMpact, he talked about the bigger picture:

๐Ÿ’™ Why do you love EMpact?

"I love EMpact because it helps our community in a big way. Keeping kids active and engaged in sports builds fundamentals that create better adults."

And he's right. The lessons kids learn through sports don't disappear when the season ends. They carry those lessons into classrooms, relationships, careers, and communities.

๐Ÿ’™ What's one thing you wish more people knew about EMpact?

"Our tuition assistance helps keep kids in sports during difficult financial times. This is important to keep their momentum and growth in the sport."

That's something we wish more people understood, too.

Sometimes a family doesn't need help getting started. They need a little help getting through a difficult season so their child doesn't have to give up something they love.

A temporary financial setback shouldn't have to mean the end of a child's opportunity.

๐Ÿ’™ Every kid deserves...
"Access to participate in extracurricular activities."

Simple. Important. And exactly why we're here.

We're grateful to have Jacob on our board, helping us make sure more kids get the chance to start, stay, grow, and discover what they're capable of.

โšพ๐ŸŽƒ โ€œOkay...but what exactly IS HalloWiffle?โ€โšพ๐ŸŽƒ

Excellent question.

Imagine baseball had a much less serious little cousin.

Now give that cousin a plastic ball, put them at Bishop Park on Halloween, surround them with Bryant Fall Fest, and tell a bunch of adults they're competing for bragging rights.

That's approximately HalloWiffle. ๐Ÿ˜‚
You don't need to be a baseball player.
You don't need to assemble an all-star roster.
You don't even need to be particularly good.

You DO need a team, a willingness to have fun, and perhaps an unreasonable amount of confidence.

And yes...
EVERYONE HITS.

๐Ÿ‚ Every kid deserves a place.

A place to belong.
A place to try.
A place to find their people, discover something they're good at, and become part of something bigger than themselves.

That's how EMpact board member Andrew Norris of Red Dog Investments finished our sentenceโ€”and we think those five words say quite a bit.

But Andrew also sees something important about EMpact that goes beyond the assistance we provide.

๐Ÿ’™ Why do you love EMpact?
โ€œI love that we have the opportunity to solve a wide range of options from equipment to giving money to connecting others to help.โ€

In other words, sometimes the solution is equipment. Sometimes it's financial assistance. And sometimes our greatest resource is simply knowing the person who can help.

Then we asked Andrew what he wishes more people knew:
๐Ÿ’™ What's one thing you wish more people knew about EMpact?
โ€œI'd like people to know even if they aren't on the board there are other ways to be involved and contribute that is not just donating money or sports equipment. We would love to get introduced to other donors or volunteers or activitiesโ€”people who have different resources but the same passion for helping kids stay and get involved in sports/hobbies.โ€

THIS. ๐Ÿ‘†
You don't have to write a big check to make an EMpact.
Maybe you know someone we need to know.
Maybe you have a skill you can share.
Maybe your business can open a door.
Maybe you can volunteer.
Maybe you know about an opportunity for a kid that we don't.
Sometimes making an EMpact is simply connecting the dots.

And finally:
๐Ÿ’™ Every kid deservesโ€ฆ
โ€œA place.โ€

We're grateful Andrew has chosen EMpact as one of the places where he shows up, connects people, and helps create opportunities for kids.
