A season of growth: one last look at the 2025 vintage through photos from .

“Harvest demands months of preparation, and flawless ex*****on. Our cellar team works seamlessly together with our vineyard managers to know what’s happening in the vineyards, to time every pick, press and punch down with precision. Making great wine starts in the earth and on the vine, and it’s our job in the cellar to know when to step back. To only intervene when needed and let the wines express the character of the vineyards from which they come.”

The Red Mountain AVA was formed by the repeated ice-age flooding of Glacial Lake Missoula between 15,000 and 13,000 years ago. The flood waters covered huge swaths of land in Washington and Oregon, and redesigned the landscape, leaving soft mountain slopes and depositing nutrient rich top soils over sand, silt and gravel.

How did this help us become a world-famous wine region? The high alkalinity and calcium carbonate content of the soil, along with its granular consistency, allows for vines to form a well established root system, reaching deep to obtain the necessary nutrients and moisture.

The dry desert landscape may not look like arable land, but this dirt was made for our vines.

It's an honor to be included in the Owen Bargreen top 100 wines of 2025 with our 2021 Estate Malbec! One of the hardest working and knowledgeable wine writers in the business. So many great wines on this list and happy to be named as one of the best wines on the West Coast.

Make sure to check out the Top 100 list and show Owen your support.

#62 - The 2021 Estate Malbec was stored in 25% new American oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling. Brooding in the glass, this delivers plenty of rich dark fruits on the palate, alongside huckleberry compote, dark chocolate shavings and a graphite edge. Every bit outstanding, enjoy now and over the next fifteen plus years. Drink 2025-2042 - 95

Sunrise over Red Mountain 🌞

Our higher latitude means we have more daily hours of sunlight than most winegrowing regions—up to 17 hours during the growing season. Bordeaux receives about 9 hours a day, Napa Valley about 15 (two other regions famous for Cabernet Sauvignon).

The orientation of Red Mountain gives us this extreme sun exposure, lending heat and ripeness to the grapes on the vine, while strong winds help regulate the temperature and create firm skins, helping to add complexity to the fruit. We know it can get hot here in the summer, but it’s also what makes our wine divine.

It’s definitely cozy season .

Pull up a chair by the fire and enjoy a stunning lineup of estate wines from winemaker Stephanie Cohen. Or enjoy the sweeping views of Red Mountain from the expansive deck!

Stephanie shares what it’s like to work at the small estate winery: “I love the intimate relationship with the vineyard that the estate property provides. The intense focus on quality, from the vineyard to the bottle, that comes with small production is unparalleled.”
