Washington Health System’s youngest patients will benefit from a recent donation of coloring books and stuffed animals from the Kyle Lives On Foundation. Pictured here is Charity Doyle, the founder of the Foundation and mother of Kyle Hook who died tragically in a car accident in 2018. In memory of your 21st Birthday we were asked to honor you by doing 21 acts of kindness. ♥️ I found myself thinking of you more often throughout the day ... when reaching out to help someone, offering an extra compliment, offering to take a shopping cart back or stepping back to allow someone else to go in front of me. I didn’t always have your card to give out, however to the ones I did give they felt so honored to be apart of your celebration! I even had a few friends to come back and tell me they did acts of kindness in your memory also. So as I posted pictures and wrote this post I’ve decided to continue acts of kindness to celebrate Y O U throughout the entire year of your 21st Birthday 🎈 Happy Birthday Kyle!

Absolutely LOVE this! Thank You Carly!

My Story

My life was forever changed a little after 9pm on Friday, March 2nd. My second oldest son, Kyle, died in a car accident. He was just three months shy of his high school graduation. Kyle was our rock, I am a single Mom of six, so he was the father figure to his brothers and sister. Our past, present and future was altered this night; our memories are now bittersweet, our present is now mournful and our future is already missing him. It just doesnt seem real, his boots still sit by the front door and his toothbrush in the bathroom waiting for him to come home.

Kyle was not your typical 18 year old. He was very opinionated and was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in. Kyle was definitely not of his generation, he loved to work and help others. Kyle was the kid that would pull over on the side of the road if he saw an older lady cutting her grass and do it for her for no money. He never let our neighbors do for themselves outside, he was always right there beside them working. He was the kid that you called on when you wanted help; he would always go and never wanted money for helping you. Kyle wanted to go to University of Northwestern Ohio, he picked this college his sophomore year and was set on going into their Diesel Technician field. Kyle was accepted and was to start on August 20th. I was completely against him going, 4.5 hours away from me was just too far. Now, I would give anything to have him start there. I kept telling him four years would be too hard and he would just say “I know, Mom, but I got this”. It wasn’t that I thought it was too hard on him, it was just that I wanted him closer to home with me. I still do.

Kyle left behind a legacy in his 18 years and that is why I started the Kyle Lives On Foundation; I wish to continue it. The Kyle Lives On Foundation will help our local community. We will help families that are going through unexpected tragic situation; whether it’s by clothing, food, money or support. In addition, we will be giving out scholarships to a local graduate every year with an I.E.P., as well as, a scholarship to a future student to the college of Kyle’s dreams.

Losing Kyle has been beyond heartbreaking. To say we are going through a difficult time would be an understatement, since this is now the rest of our lives missing a part of us and knowing he should be there. This Foundation will help other families to comfort them and hopefully ease their pain.
