Superior Hee Haw Hustle: Registration Temporarily on Hold
We regret to inform you that we must temporarily freeze registration for the Superior Hee Haw Hustle.
The U.S. Forest Service has informed us that they want to modify our already signed permit and operating plan. We have been in direct contact with their representatives and explicitly stated that their proposed modifications are unobtainable. We also made it clear that these late changesāor the forced cancellation of the raceāwill deeply hurt the Forever Home Donkey Rescue, the town of Superior, Arizona, and the local merchants who have already heavily invested in our event. It is incredibly disappointing that the U.S. Forest Service is reneging on their own contract for this race.
In our most recent conversation with the USDA Forest Service representative, we were informed that our concerns are being escalated to the District Ranger to reconsider their request. We have been promised an official response from the District Ranger on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Because of this uncertainty, we are pausing registration immediately. To accommodate our runners during this pause, we are extending the expiration date for the SMARTASS10 coupon to September 12, 2026.
In the event that the USFS decides not to honor their original agreement, and the races canceled, a full refund will be issued to anyone already registered.
We sincerely apologize for this unexpected hurdle and want everyone to know that we are fighting hard and hoping for the best possible outcome. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
