WARNING ⚠️ SEMI GRAPHIC IMAGES! What a day. Our poor Miss Marie Queso decided to try and make friends with a spicy ouch noodle (rattlesnake) and got a “not so love” bite right on the top of the nose 😢 we immediately took her into in Benson and Dr Monika started care on her right away. My mom and I thought we lost her on the five minute drive to the clinic and even started chest compressions. After starting the anti venom drip, Benadryl, and steroids, she started to come to a little bit. She’s still having a hard time breathing and we’re going to have a long road to recovery but we are so blessed and grateful that she’s alive. Anything helps. We’ll make sure to update on Marie’s progress and hopefully she heals up quickly.

A cat recently had kitten next to a neighbors porch. This poor cat has been in the neighborhood for a while and is super thin and uncared for. We’ve attempted to rescue her before to no avail. This evening we set up 3 traps to attempt a rescue of all 7 kittens and the mom as temperatures have been nearing 110 during the day. We were able to catch this one little girl and care for her this evening. Two big flea baths and about two hours of hand removing hundreds of fleas from her face and ears proved successful. We treated her eye infection and She drank a lot of kitten milk replacement and is now resting peacefully. We’re hoping the morning brings more successful rescues and rehabilitation. So grateful to have my husband by my side to rescue and care for these animals ❤️ 🐈‍⬛ if you’d like to donate to help in the rehabilitation efforts of these kittens, every little bit helps. Today I said a fond farewell to my best friend Gandalf. My first baby when I moved to BC, he was my everything. He taught me how incredibly special cats could be and I was so truly grateful to have had him in my life almost 10 years. At 21 he was suffering from ailments that caught up to him and we made the difficult decision to say goodbye before he suffered too much 😔 I’m shattered. This has been a horrible year so far with losing Persephone and now this… I’ll be holding my children a little closer tonight. There’s only so much one person can take. The last three images are from the shelter before I adopted him 10 years ago.
