Bensalem Leo Club

Bensalem Leo Club The Leo Club is a youth organization of the Lions Clubs. But the Leo Club especially looks out to helping the youth in the world.

The Bensalem Leo Club is a community based organization that will do anything within our abilities to answer the call for people & organizations in need in the community & abroad. Just like the Lions Club, the Leo Club will provide help to whoever is in need in the community and abroad. In this organization you will be doing plenty of volunteering and community service. Your donated time in this g

roup will help out many. Every minute counts and nothing is a waste. To see that you made someones life that much better or just to see a smile on someones face is a wonderful site that you will never forget. Leo Club History:

Coach Jim Graver started the Leo ball rolling in 1957 and chances are that ball was a baseball. Graver was the baseball coach of the Abington High School in Pennsylvania, USA and an active member of the Glenside Lions Club. With help from his fellow Lion, William Ernst, the first Leo club was charted on December 5, 1957. As the world's first Leo club, the Abington High School Leo Club created the Leo acronym – Leadership, Equality, Opportunity – and they chose their school colors, maroon and gold to serve as the Leo club colors. Later, Equality was changed to Experience. In October 1967, the board of directors of Lions Clubs International adopted the Leo Club Program as an official program of the association. The Leo Club Program as been growing strong for over 50 years. Community service remains the cornerstone of the program. Like their Lion counterparts, Leo club members enjoy serving their neighbors and watching positive results unfold.

Speaking on behalf of the YWCA, Executive Director Karen Forbes said, “This deeply appreciated support from Foundations Community Partnership will help YWCA Bucks County fulfill its ongoing commitment to improving the lives of young girls in our community. It will do so by helping them build the self-confidence, self-esteem and personal strengths and attributes that will aid them in the often difficult transition from elementary to middle school. We thank Foundations Community Partnership for its support. It’s collaborations like these that truly help build a stronger Bucks County.”
