October is Substance Use Prevention Month, an opportunity to address stigma around substance use disorders and treatment and share resources to raise awareness about substance use in our communities. At UCS, we offer a variety of services for individuals seeking help with substance use challenges, including individual and group therapy options for youth and adults, education and training at your school or place of work, and intensive outpatient services, including a virtual intensive outpatient program.

Staffed Living Coordinators oversee client services and provide training and supervision to Specialized Direct Support Providers (SDSPs) to ensure clients receive high-quality care. This position also includes opportunities to collaborate with community partners to secure housing for clients and advocate for clients requiring more intensive emotional, behavioral, and medical support.

Many individuals we serve through our Developmental Services division benefit from being paired with contracted shared living providers (SLPs) who offer caring, supportive homes. SLPs support individuals based on each person’s level of need to help them thrive in their daily lives.

Becoming an SLP can be a rewarding experience, as well as a flexible way to earn full-time pay from your own home.
