The Canal House Bone Builders class in Bellows Falls looking strong!

One of these ladies started the class a few months ago and was unable to stand up without using chair arms to push up. Now she gets up with just her leg strength.

Another Bone Builder in the class noticed one day that she was able to button a shirt on her own for the first time due to her increased arm strength!

At the age of 91 and after 31 year of volunteer service with RSVP, Norma S decided to retire. She spent many years reading to kids and starting in 2014 became a Bone Builders leader at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. The class moved to zoom during the pandemic, and kept on zoom and Norma kept on teaching over the internet.

Norma's BB class took her out for a retirement/birthday lunch and a jolly time was had by all.

AARP Vermont Tax Aide program is looking for volunteers for this year's tax season. Training is provided and all those who want to become a tax preparer need to pass a certification exam at the end of the training.

In the 2024 tax season, volunteers in Bennington and Windham counties prepared 1,086 returns which refunded $764,340 to taxpayers. Wow! If you'd like to be part of this important program, call (802) 951-1304 or email [email protected]

Saxtons River is hosting a "Generosity Fair" Saturday, Nov. 8th from 2:00 - 4:00. This is an opportunity to learn more about local non-profits and make Thanksgiving donations, if you feel so moved (not necessary at all).

Green Mountain RSVP will be present, along with Senior Solutions, SEVCA, schools and historical societies. 20 exhibitors in all - free refreshments! Stop by and say hello if you are in the area.
