This Saturday, August 15th, the DCSO and our partners with the Nebraska State Patrol will be holding a car seat safety check event.

Car seats are one of the most important tools for keeping children safe on the road, but studies consistently show that many are installed or used incorrectly. Even small installation mistakes can significantly reduce a car seat’s ability to protect a child during a crash. A proper car seat safety check helps ensure that the seat is securely installed, the harness fits your child correctly, and the seat is appropriate for your child’s age, height, and weight.

Please join us this weekend to have your car seats inspected free of charge.

The Bennington Fire Department's annual Public Education Event brought Bennington Daze to a close with an afternoon of fun, learning, and community connection. Families enjoyed hands-on safety demonstrations, CPR training, health and safety resources, firefighter-themed activities, and more.

Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) has declared a blood emergency as supplies drop to less than a two-day supply overall and under one day for type O blood, the most critical type used in emergency care. The shortage comes at the start of summer’s “trauma season,” when hospitals typically see a rise in serious injuries, including car crashes and other emergencies requiring large volumes of blood. Please Join us on June 22nd for our blood drive and save a life!
