The Office of Civic Engagement promotes and encourages SVC students, staff, and faculty to engage locally, nationally, and globally through meaningful service, volunteerism, and social justice programs and initiatives. Through the Office of Civic Engagement, students can participate through two community service organizations: Big Brothers, Big Sisters and MooseCorps. Students and staff can also p

articipate in one time immersion endeavors such as Alternative Spring Break service trip and Fall and Spring Day of Service. The Office of Civic Engagement welcomes any and all ideas to help students realize their potential as civic leaders. If you have a program, initiative, or need that needs to be met, let us know!

Around for the long weekend? Meet people and get involved in a Bennington tradition by volunteering to park cars with other SVC students for the Garlic & Herb Festival from 1:30-3:30pm on Sunday September 6th! Transportation will be provided. Stop by the Civic Engagement Office if you are interested in volunteering!

Everything from garlic ice cream to garlic jelly, pickled garlic, roasted garlic, garlic braids and, of course, plain garlic bulbs of every variety will be available for sampling and purchase, along with planting and braiding demonstrations as well as cooking demonstrations.

Blood Drive today! Starting at 9:30 am you can save a life by donating blood. We'll be in the MAC until 2:30 pm.

If you enjoyed volunteering at the BPI Senior Citizens Prom, then join us on April 17th for the BPI Trivia Nite! Volunteers are wanted for serving drinks and snacks and helping with games! It'll be more fun than you can shake a stick at.

Transportation will be provided. The event is 1:30-3 pm

The Office of Civic Engagement has three opportunities to volunteer in the month of April.

April 13th- Register to donate blood at the American Red Cross Blood Drive at redcrossblood.org

April 17th- Sign up to volunteer at the Bennington Project Independence Trivia Nite from 1 to 3:30 pm. Transportation is provided.

April 25th- Put together a team of 5 to bowl at Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kid's Sake. We've got a spot reserved at 10:30 so you don't miss out on Moosepalooza.

Today's a beautiful day for pies!

Come to the Dining Hall tonight from 5 pm to 6:30 pm to pie any of the following folks:

Jeb Gorham, Jennifer Nelson, Ashley Hodges, Michael Zauzig, Betsy Dunham, Kevin Johnston, Mike Goodwin, Tammy Kenny, Pam Krawczyk, and Sarah Knapp.

$8.00 for the first pie, $4.00 each additional pie.
