Here’s an easy and delicious way to support local students with disabilities! 🍔💙

On October 27 and 28, Nation’s Giant Hamburgers in Benicia will donate 20% of qualifying purchases to the Solano SELPA Community Advisory Committee.

The CAC supports families and advocates for the educational needs of children with disabilities throughout Solano County. Simply enjoy a meal at Nation’s and let them know you’re supporting the CAC fundraiser when you order.

We had the opportunity to sit down with the National Kidney Foundation and talk about the Kidney Walk coming up in November, something that is especially close to our hearts. 🧡

While we were there, she also shared more about the National Kidney Foundation’s Authors Luncheon happening in March, which will be celebrating its 38th year! This incredible event brings together authors and literary leaders while supporting NKF’s work in education, advocacy and research.

We love opportunities like this to connect, learn more about what’s happening in our community, and find more ways The Ripple Effect of Life can support organizations doing such meaningful work.

And of course, I couldn’t leave without getting a little snuggle in with Sidney the Kidney! 🧡

Three generations. Three hours. 210 meals. ❤️

One of the things we believe deeply at The Ripple Effect of Life is that being the ripple doesn’t mean you only serve through one organization.

As co-founders of The Ripple Effect of Life, we’re also proud members of Kiwanis, Lions and Soroptimist.

Tonight, we put on our Kiwanis and Lions hats and spent three hours at St. Paul’s helping prepare and serve 210 meals.

And the best part? We did it with three generations of our family.

This is what I wish we saw more of, families volunteering together. Bring your kids. Let them work beside you. Let them see what it means to show up for their community.

There are already so many incredible organizations doing the work. Sometimes being the ripple simply means joining them, giving a few hours of your time, and helping wherever you’re needed.

Tonight was three generations, three hours and 210 meals, and hopefully another generation learning that serving others is simply part of what we do. 💙

There is something so powerful about young people leading the way and caring for their community. 💙

The Antioch Council of Teens is collecting gently used coats, gloves, scarves and boots through November 3 to help keep local families warm this winter.

Take a look through your closets, gather what you’re no longer using and help these teens make a difference. One warm coat can create a ripple of kindness for someone who truly needs it.

Just a little sneak peek of what we were up to today 👀🎥

We have some really amazing things happening with The Ripple right now, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead. ❤️🌊

Looking for a meaningful way to give back as a family? 💙🍎

The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is hosting its Fall Harvest Family Day at the Fairfield warehouse!

📅 Saturday, October 10
📍 2370 North Watney Way, Fairfield

Families, groups and children ages five and older are invited to help bag fresh fall produce for local food-distribution programs. This is a hands-on opportunity for children to learn about service while helping provide nutritious food to neighbors in our community.

A few important details:

🍐 All volunteers must be scheduled in advance
🍎 Registration is first come, first served
🥕 One actively volunteering adult is required for every eight children ages 5–15
👟 Closed-toe shoes are required
✅ Wait for an official confirmation after submitting your request

This is such a wonderful way to spend time together, teach our children about giving back and create a ripple that reaches families throughout our community. 🌊

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. ❤️

Every three minutes, someone in the United States is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma. Every three minutes, another person becomes a patient and another family hears words that can change everything.

But behind every statistic is a person.

A son. A daughter. A parent. A spouse. A friend.

And beside so many of them is someone who would give anything to take the diagnosis away.

Blood cancers include leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and many other forms. Organizations such as the Lymphoma Research Foundation and Blood Cancer United are working to advance research, advocate for patients, and provide support to individuals and families navigating these diseases.

This month, we honor those fighting, those in remission, the families standing beside them, and those we carry with us.

Awareness matters. Research matters. Support matters.

Because every three minutes isn't just a number.

It's someone’s person. ❤️

🧡 In honor of James Baldwin and his courageous kidney cancer journey, The Ripple Effect of Life is raising money for the National Kidney Foundation.

On November 8th, we’ll walk alongside thousands of others, including our friends at the Montanez Foundation Team, in the fight against kidney disease.

James isn’t able to walk with us this year due to his health but you can walk in his shoes. 🧡
