During this season of Thanksgiving, I would like to start a gratitude thread. Please participate by commenting what you are thankful for.
* We would like to thank the hard work of our volunteers who have tirelessly collected over 2 tons worth of trash and litter from our city streets and shoreline since 2019. They are Litter Heroes, make sure you honk if you see them! They are out there every day picking up litter because they love Benicia!
* We are grateful for the staff at the City of Benicia's Public Works Department for making trash drop-offs so convenient and easy for our group, working even on their days off so that we can efficiently organize group clean ups. I would also like to thank the Public Works Dept. for donating much needed supplies.
* I would like to thank both the Mayor Steve Young and Council Member Lionel Largaespada for their participation in our group clean ups and being instrumental in acquiring the tools our group needs to keep Benicia litter free.
* I would also like to thank our local Benicia clubs for their participation in our clean up events: Benicia Lions Club, Benicia Bicycle Club, and Benicia Tuesday Club.
* And last, I'd like to thank our local Benicia artists, Susan Street Fine Art and Samantha McNally for both participating in our clean ups and also for donating their art to our group so that we can continue to spread the anti-litter word.
Thank you so much everyone!
We are a fun and inclusive grass-roots community organization that picks up litter in our region, and spearheads anti-littering campaigns.
