Stewardship for Sustainable Bagging

Stewardship for Sustainable Bagging Calling all Bendites! Stewardship for Sustainable Bagging is a non-profit organization founded on the belief that plastic bags are toxic to the world.

We as a community need to come together in efforts to end the distribution and usage of single use plastic bags in our beautiful little town! We are in the process of trying to ban the distribution of single use plastic bags at grocery and retail stores in the town of Bend, Oregon. We want to eliminate the ability for all retail stores in Bend to be able to provide single use plastic bags upon che

ckout, as produce bags, as bulk food bags and as communal doggie bags. But we need your help to build awareness and gain support from the community!

The Oregon State Legislature is currently meeting and bill 113 (plastic bag ban) is being discussed by the Senate Committee On Environment and Natural Resources. An amazing way to help support a statewide bag ban would be for YOU to use five minutes of your time to call one of these reps and tell them to strongly consider the bill.

Here is a list of the representatives on the committee:

Chair Senator Jackie Dingfelder (503-493-2804)
Vice-Chair Senator Alan Olsen (503-986-1720)
Member Senator Alan Bates (503-986-1703)
Member Senator Bill Hansell (503-986-1729)
Member Senator Mark Hass (503-986-1714)
