Wyden Extends Deadline for Federal Judgeship Applicants to December 15, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NOVEMBER 16, 2011

Portland, OR – Senator Ron Wyden’s office today announced an extension of the deadline for applicants interested in filling a vacant federal district court judgeship in Oregon. The previous application deadline was this Thursday, November 17. The new deadline is Thursday, December 15.
“Although there are already some excellent applicants for this opening, we want to make sure that everyone interested in the position has adequate time to apply and that the selection committee has the broadest range of applicants possible to choose from,” said Tom Towslee, Wyden’s state communications director.
Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkley announced last month that a 13-member committee had been selected to review applicants and recommend names to replace U.S. District Court Judge Michael Hogan, who has taken senior status.
Those interested in being considered for the judicial appointment must send a letter of interest, a resume and any supporting material to Senator Wyden’s office, attention Christina Rohner, at [email protected] by the December 15th deadline.
