The days are getting cooler, fall is on its way, and we’re officially entering cozy season at the House. 🍂

We’ve loved seeing families do puzzles around the living room table recently, adding a few pieces here and there, getting to slow down together between doctor's appointments or hospital visits.

And this puzzle is extra special, as it features the art of local artist Megan Marie Myers Art whose whimsical murals also fill the walls of our House. Her art never stops bringing magic and comfort to us!

When a parent staying with us realizes they need something, whether it be a snack, a toiletry, something for their child, we want the answer to be simple:

And because of our generous community, so often we do. Our Wish List helps us keep the House stocked with the everyday things that bring a little more ease to families already carrying a lot.

🎸 What a night!

Our third annual Battle of the Bands brought the music, the competition, and an incredible show of support for Ronald McDonald House Oregon!

🏆 Congratulations to Almost - the band, this year’s Battle of the Bands champions! And a HUGE thank you to 3 Fingers Deep, Trainwreck Bend, Switchback PNW: Classic and Alternative and Atillion for taking the stage, rallying your fans, and making this such a fun night. You all absolutely rocked it.

A special thank you to Craft Kitchen and Brewery for once again giving us a home for Battle of the Bands and being such a wonderful partner.

And to everyone who came out, cast a vote, cheered on a band, volunteered, or supported the event from afar: thank you. Every ticket and every vote helped support Ronald McDonald House Oregon and the families who call our House home.

We’re already looking forward to next year. 🤘❤️

✨ Meet Iszabelle, our intern turned RMH teammate! ✨

You may recognize this smiling face! Iszabelle first joined our House as an intern, helping us keep our house clean and safe for families and bringing fresh energy to our Fun Junction ~ creating regular opportunities for kids staying at our house to get creative, make art and play!

Kids are truly at the heart of Iszabelle’s work. Outside of the House, she has spent time working with children through after-school programs and camps, and she hopes to become a Child Life Specialist in the future.

When asked what her favorite thing about working at Ronald McDonald House is, she said, "I love working with this team! Everyone is so kind and loves their job. It makes coming to work so fun and exciting. I appreciate how everyone was so welcoming to me as an intern and how happy they were for me when I became an employee!"

A small thing that makes Iszabelle smile: "Wildflowers always make me smile. I love seeing all the bright and vibrant colors in nature. I love when they are in unexpected places!"

When not working, you’ll find Iszabelle: "On a paddleboard at the lake. I love swimming and being on the water. Honestly, any activity outside brings me so much joy but being near water is a nice addition in the hot summer."

She’s thoughtful, enthusiastic and always ready to jump in wherever an extra hand is needed. We’re so happy Iszabelle is officially part of our team!

Some people see a need and simply step in. ❤️

Last week, Sue, one of our incredible Meals from the Heart volunteers noticed a few holes in our dinner calendar and decided to fill them - not once, not twice, but THREE times! 🙌🍽️

Three evenings of warm meals. Three nights our families had one less thing to think about. And one very generous human who kept showing up.

We are so grateful for volunteers like this who quietly look for ways to care for our families and our House. Thank you, Sue, for filling more than just our dinner calendar. You also filled our House with kindness, comfort and some very happy bellies. ❤️

Back-to-school season comes with a lot of lists, logistics and emotions - even in the best of circumstances.

For families navigating medical care away from home, making sure kids have what they need to feel prepared, confident and excited for a new school year can be one more thing on an already-full plate.

That’s why we’re so grateful to Seventh Mountain Resort for showing up with a wonderful donation of back-to-school supplies for our families! 🎒✏️📓

These supplies are more than pencils and notebooks — they’re one less thing for parents to worry about and one more way we can help kids feel ready for whatever this school year brings.

We love providing comfort to the families who stay with us in as many ways as possible! Some of those ways are by having snacks at the ready, meals in the freezer to whip up, or gift cards to give to families who would love to take a break from the hospital and eat some food of their own choosing while away from home. Providing dinner gives families staying at Ronald McDonald House one less thing to worry about during a difficult time. Gather a group to cook in our House kitchen, or arrange for a local restaurant to prepare and deliver a meal. No culinary expertise required, just a desire to help!

You know you work somewhere amazing when employees bring their families (especially family members who are visiting from out of town) to show them around the house or make food for the guests staying with us! We’re proud of the warmth and comfort our House provides families during some of life’s most uncertain moments. Anyone who walks through our doors can feel it ✨

Recently, our Regional Executive Director, Lauren, and her visiting family came by on a Sunday morning to cook breakfast for our families - making sure her world famous Creme Brulée French Toast Casserole and Veggie Fratatta were done in time for our early risers so everyone had fuel for their day!

Thank you Lauren and Fam! We're grateful for you!
