Starting today (May 15) Trout Creek is partially open to climbing! The Main Wall will be open with all routes south of Gold Rush remaining closed. The South Approach Trail and Cool Wall Trails (including the Cool Wall) will remain closed. Access to the Main Wall will only be on the North Approach Trail.

Smith Rock legend Jeff Thomas in front of two route he did the FFA of; Wartley’s Revenge (5.11a) and Shoes Of The Fisherman (5.11b). If you’re looking to do some classic Smith trad lines both of these are excellent options. And when you get pumped out just remember that Jeff did these in the early 70’s with no cams or chalk 😅
