Yesterday’s Memorial Day Ceremony at Deschutes Memorial Chapel & Gardens was a moving and meaningful tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

VFW Post 1643 would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our guest speakers, participating organizations, volunteers, and community members who helped make the ceremony possible. Your support, dedication, and presence ensured that we honored our fallen heroes with the dignity and respect they deserve.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the sacrifices made by generations of Americans.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us yesterday in remembrance.

We will never forget.

A huge thank you to all of our members and volunteers who gave their time this weekend to help raise money for veterans in need through our Buddy Poppy donations. Your dedication and support of our veteran community truly embodies what it means to continue serving.

We also want to thank everyone in the Bend community who stopped by to say hello, pick up a Buddy Poppy, and make a donation. Your generosity directly helps veterans and their families.

If you missed your opportunity to get a Buddy Poppy and donate, don’t worry — we will have a table set up today at the Memorial Day Ceremony at Deschutes Memorial Chapel & Gardens beginning at 1:00 PM. Please stop by and see us.
