Tomorrow (Wednesday) is the Post 297 Planning Mtg at 6:30pm. Everyone welcome. Legion Exec Bd to follow (Legion officers only). It's also BAKED POTATO NIGHT!!! Served hot out of the oven with chicken or ham and all the fixings, 6-9pm, $6 donation. Need it to go? Call us at 817-249-2791 and we'll have it ready for you.

Busy weekend at 297. Unit 297 supported Flag Day at the base; Flag Retirement Ceremony at Post with fire blazing well into the night but all flags taken care of, and Sundays Father's Day brunch was a success. Special thanks to Bill and Lora for making sure our Post is presentable - they've been very busy this week chopping up and getting rid of all the downed trees and limbs from the storms, mowing, cleaning tables & chairs, bathrooms, and then coming early today to cook turkeys and hams! Thank you Theresa Byers, Laurel W, Donna, and Susan Ashton for helping today. We served over 35 meals and really enjoyed the family atmosphere, it's good to see little kids running around again! Thank you Mark & Paula for bringing your entire family.

Father's Day Brunch at Post 297; Sunday, June 15th, 11am-2pm. Dad's eat free, others $8 - kids 10 and under $4. Menu includes turkey, ham, pasta salads, potatoes, veggies, rolls, and dessert. Skip the crowded restaurants and bring the family out for a fun time and good food. Special Father's Day basket raffle - includes several premium ci**rs (valued over $100), a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, flask set, Michael Kors cologne set, Jack Daniels swag, and more. Tickets on sale now, $2 each or 6 for $10 - winner drawn on Sunday.

Instead of burgers, tonight will be a special meal of yummy "million dollar chicken" served over white rice. $5 donation, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. if you've never had it, it's awesome - chicken bites in a cream sauce with vegetables. Almost like chicken pot pie but without the pie!

Poppy dinner was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came and supported this amazing program. The dinner raised over $250, and we kept the night going with karaoke and dancing! With other fundraising efforts at the base, poppy cans, etc we've raised over $400 to provide direct support to veterans. Thank you!!!

Due to the impending inclement weather on Monday we have a change of plans for the Memorial Day activities...

Instead of meeting at the cemetery we will meet at Post 297 at 8:00 a.m. for our official Memorial Day ceremony followed by our Post Everlasting ceremony where we ceremoniously retire the names of our members who have gone before us this year. Pancake breakfast immediately following (approximately 9am).

Wednesday dinner menu has changed also...instead of sloppy joes it will be million dollar chicken (chicken & vegetables in a creamy sauce) over white rice with rolls.
