Happy April Fools Day! Sew Rose owner Burgundi Thure invited folks to join her birthday Fool's Parade and looks like people heeded the call! After a joyous parade through the Ben Lomond Market, Verutti's Liquors, Mountain Feed, Ace and Henflings, they lifted the spirits of drivers on the corner of Highway 9 and Mill Street with waves and laughs. Great fun! Who's in for 2026?

Welcome to Ben Lomond sign fun fact: Did you know that contrary to popular belief, the figure at the top of the sign isn’t a golfer, but a hiker with a walking stick and wearing a kilt, commemorating the many outdoor activities in Ben Lomond. The history of the Welcome sign (and there were actually two) is steeped in Ben Lomond’s mid-century push to attract more visitors.

The Ben Lomond sign project and the tree lighting at Ben Lomond Volunteer Fire Dept were especially meaningful, as was the Monarch Butterfly pollinator garden at Ben Lomond County Park next to the Ben Lomond Library. Stay tuned in the new year for more projects from the BLVA!
