The Oak Hills family is mourning the sudden loss of Jean and Greg Giles as the result of a tragic car accident on August 29, 2026. We are grateful for over 25 years of faithful service to Oak Hills and find comfort knowing they were welcomed together by their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

From their daughter Christy (Giles) Haman:

It is in shock and with a heavy heart that I have to share this news. My parents, Greg and Jean Giles, passed away yesterday in a car accident. They were known for their love of God. They were very loyal to our family, and always wanted to explore the world around them. As sad as this is to my sisters and I, our families, and friends, there are so many blessings God gave us and them, even in their deaths.
- Dad and Mom were believers. They knew Christ died on the cross to save them from the consequences of sin=death. Although their physical bodies have passed, they are in Heaven now. They will never have to die spiritually. (I teach, and my students have recently learned about insects molting. My parents have merely shed one skin for a much better body!)
- . Mom had stage 4 cancer, no cure other than a miracle from God. God just cured her. She is free of all sickness for eternity.
- One of Dad's fears was how to live without Mom when she passed away from cancer. (They had been married for 51 years.) God showed him mercy and took them together. All praise to Him! Please pray for our family as we wade through the aftermath of this, and for family traveling from all over the world to gather.

Just days before the accident, Greg had an article published in the Cordell Beacon titled: To Live is Christ, To Die is Gain.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1:30 pm. at First Baptist Church in Cordell, OK. In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts are requested by check or online giving to:

Today is "OUTREACH DECLARATION DAY" at OHCC!

A special thanks to the regional churches and service organizations who were on campus on Monday to share ministry opportunities with our students.

Throughout its history, Oak Hills students have logged countless hours serving God by loving others through STUDENT OUTREACH - an integral part of our degree programs. As followers of Christ, the goal is to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a life of effective service wherever God leads. Supervised volunteer experiences are varied and include evangelism, discipleship, intercultural, and social concern.

Thanks to faculty, Randy McKain, for organizing this yearly event and student, Laura Zell, for the pictures!

Oak Hills throughout the seasons! In the spring, Oak Hills students complete their academic year and look forward to commencement. In the summer, campus is still busy as student workers and summer staff work hard to prepare campus for the new school year. Fall brings new and returning students to Oak Hills for a new academic year. In winter, Oak Hills is deep into the school year, and students enjoy winter activities like sledding, snow-shoeing, and Christmas parties!

The Student Engagement Team (S.E.T) consists of returning students who plan and promote campus-wide activities! Encouraging students to take a healthy break from studying for a nerf gun war or game night is just the beginning! They also help with the Fall Festival and the Annual Spring Banquet.
