Early detection saves lives. Thanks to the generosity of our community, northern Minnesota’s first mobile mammography unit is bringing breast center screenings closer to home. Increased access means earlier detection, greater peace of mind and healthier communities.

Chris and Jessy were all set to kick off Pink for a Purpose when one of our customers walked in looking like she'd read the memo. 🎀 We're pretty sure her hair is the official color of October, and we couldn't resist snapping a pic! (Chris's pink pants are doing their best to keep up. 😉)

While thousands of kids in our communities have gone back to school, for pediatric patients facing a serious illness or ongoing treatment, school can feel like a world away.

Thanks to generosity, hospital teachers Lynsey Kjos and Hope Stromsodt help kids continue learning so they can remain in their current grade and feel prepared for a successful return to the classroom.

"I have the privilege of helping students stay connected to learning during an unexpected chapter in their lives," says Lynsey. "I love giving students one-on-one support that builds their confidence and keeps them connected to learning."

Don and Bonnie Bredenberg were longtime residents of Bemidji who loved their community deeply. This year's All-Staff Retreat brought our team together to learn, connect and collaborate. Thanks to community generosity, children and families across northern Minnesota will soon have access to the area’s first child life program.

For families like Kade’s facing an unexpected diagnosis or injury, child life specialists provide comfort, education and support during healthcare experiences.

This new program will help more local children and families navigate challenging moments with greater confidence and care.

As the program takes shape, Sanford Health is hiring for a child life specialist to serve the Bemidji region.
