Bemidji, THANK YOU ❤️

🌈 It's been one week since Bemidji Pride, and our team is rested, grateful, and reflecting on the joy of the weekend. Three days. Hundreds of moments. Thousands of reasons to be proud.

Bemidji Pride 2026 was something really special. From Queeraoke and A Few Tales on Thursday and Friday, to a full day of family, music, vendors, drag, dancing, laughter, and community on Saturday, we spent the weekend celebrating what makes Pride in the Northwoods so special. 🌲

Our theme this year was Rooted in Love, and we saw that love everywhere. In the people who have been part of this community for decades. In the kiddos experiencing Pride for the first time.

In the performers who shared their art. In the volunteers who made things happen behind the scenes. In our organizers and board of directors who worked tirelessly all year long. In our fantastic bar team from K**b & Kettle Restaurant and Lounge. In our venue team at RailRiverFolkSchool. In the vendors, sponsors, and community members who showed up and made this weekend possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped us grow in another year of Pride. We are incredibly grateful for this community and for everyone who continues to help us build something that belongs to all of us 🌱

📊 And now, we want to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to complete our 2026 Bemidji Pride Community Survey. Your feedback helps us keep growing with our community, not just for it.

And a special thank you to Nedahness Rose Greene of Greene Photography LLC and our Marketing Director, Rayne, for capturing the magic of Pride 📸

Thank you KAXE / KBXE for sitting down with us! Check out the interview with our Marketing Director, Rayne, and Secretary, Phineas! And don’t forget to join us this weekend! 🌈🌲

For the 2026 Bemidji Pride event, the people who make the event happen decided to look back at their past.

“When we began to look back, it was always that the origins of Bemidji Pride were rooted in love,” said Rayne Heck, Marketing Director of Bemidji Pride. “When we were looking at the people who started it, where it got started, where the first funding came from, when we did: it was all people who wanted to support folks in our community.”

The 2026 theme is titled “Rooted in Love,” with a focus on how this event got started and how they have continued to grow over the years. It begins on Aug. 26 and continues through Aug. 29.

Guests Heck and Phineas Holmes shared so much more. Don't miss the whole conversation hosted by KAXE's Andrew Dziengel and Heidi Holtan.
