💙💙💙Have you ever heard of sextortion? Essentially, children and teens become “friends” with someone online. Often this person poses as someone their age, develops rapport, become friends or sometime the child or teen believes they are in a long distance relationship with the person. Overtime, the person requests inappropriate images. If the child or teen complies the person threatens to tell their parents, post the pictures, share them with school etc. if more pictures and videos are not sent or if demands are not meant. Often the child and teen feels betrayed but also ashamed of what they’ve done so they continue to comply, not knowing where to turn. Sadly, sextortion cases have been linked to teen su***de. Check out this information shared by National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to educate yourself and start protecting your child/teen. 💙💙💙

Marcia is an amazing advocate for children, she has a wealth of knowledge, if anyone can ensure a statewide response is started it is Marcia! Thank you for all your hard work! 💙❤️🩵

We have proven models to respond to child abuse in this state, but additional state and federal resources are needed to strengthen them.
