Belview First Responders

🇺🇸 25 years later, we remember the ones who answered the call. 🚑
September 11, 2001, changed our nation forever.
In the middle of unimaginable chaos, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, dispatchers, and countless other first responders went to work. They treated the injured, carried the wounded, comforted strangers, and ran toward a scene that so many others were desperately trying to escape.
They didn't know what the next minute would bring. They simply knew someone needed help.
For those of us who answer calls today, their courage is a reminder of what it truly means to serve — to show up on someone's worst day and do everything you can to help.
Today we honor those who responded, those who survived, and those who never made it home.
25 years later, their service and sacrifice have not been forgotten.

After 29 years of dedication to the Belview Fire Department, we had the difficult honor of gathering together one final time this week for Steve Panitzke.

Throughout the years Steve served our department as a firefighter, Assistant Chief, Chief and treasurer but the titles only tell a small part of his story. He was a friend, a mentor, a familiar face at the fire hall and in our small town, and someone who gave nearly three decades of his life to serving the community he called home.

As Steve’s final call echoed one last time, we were reminded that although his service has ended, his place within the Belview Fire Department never will.

The trucks will continue to roll. The tones will continue to drop. And when they do, a piece of Steve will always ride with us—in the lessons he taught, the memories he left behind, and the friendships built over 29 years of service.
Rest easy, brother.
We’ll take it from here. 🚒

Steve Panitzke
29 years of service to the Belview Fire Department. Forever one of our own.❤️

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the surrounding fire departments and emergency service agencies who joined us in honoring Steve and his years of service. Seeing all the trucks roll in and so many of our brothers and sisters standing alongside us meant more than words can say. In moments like these, we are reminded just how strong the fire service family truly is!

Please continue to keep Steve’s family in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead. While our department lost a brother, they lost someone they loved far beyond the fire hall. ❤️

🚒 Heroes in Action at the Redwood County Fair! 🚒

A few members of the Belview fire dept participated in this year's Heroes in Action event at the Redwood County Fair, representing the department and giving fairgoers the opportunity to get an up-close look at a couple of their fire apparatuses and equipment.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit, ask questions, and support your local volunteers. We always appreciate the chance to connect with our community and share what we do.
A big thank you to our firefighters for taking the time to represent Belview with pride!
❤️ Dedicated to serving our community—both on and off the call!

Happy EMS Week!
This week, we celebrate the people who answer the call; day or night, rain or shine, on someone’s very worst day.

EMS Week 2026 reminds us that great patient care is never done alone. This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” recognizes the teamwork between EMS, fire, law enforcement, dispatch, hospitals, and our community that makes a difference every single day.

To all EMS professionals and first responders: thank you for your compassion, sacrifice, resilience, and dedication to serving others. Your community sees you, appreciates you, and supports you. 💙

When the tones drop… they don’t hesitate.
While others run away, they run toward it.
Into the flames. Into the unknown. Into whatever it takes.
It’s not about recognition.
It’s not about praise.
It’s about protecting their neighbors, their friends… their community.
Courage isn’t just a word here — it’s a way of life.

❤️ Happy National Firefighters’ Day!

🚒 Thank you to the men and women of the Belview Fire Department!

Our community. Our family. Our heroes.
