Please join us in congratulating Jean Twyning on the dedication of the Jean Twyning Nature Playground at Glenn H. Green Open Space in the Belvidere Township Park District. The brand-new playground, located at 8484 Distillery Road, was dedicated in honor of Jean’s incredible 42 years of service on the Belvidere Park District Board of Commissioners.

Jean has been a champion for countless organizations and causes throughout Boone County. We are especially honored that she has served several terms on the board of directors here at the Boone County Community Foundation. Her dedication, leadership, and love for this community are inspiring!

Congratulations, Jean! This recognition is so well deserved, and your impact on Boone County will continue to be felt for generations to come.

⭐⭐⭐Grant in Action⭐⭐⭐

Girls on the Run NW Illinois
We want to wish all of the incredible participants the best of luck this weekend as they participate in a 5K that they have worked towards all season! This event is so much more than a race. It is a celebration of growth, confidence, perseverance, and achievement. Crossing the finish line gives each participant a sense of accomplishment and creates memories that last a lifetime.

We are proud to support programs like Girls on the Run, which empower young girls through dynamic experiences that nurture the whole person including body, brain, heart, spirit, and social connection. The participants build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop both physical and emotional resilience in an inclusive and encouraging environment.

Congratulations, best of luck, and have so much fun! We will be cheering you on every step of the way! Together, we make a difference Boone County!

On March 17, Steering Committee members Kelly Kerchner and Melissa Erickson had the opportunity to personally thank the North Boone Education Foundation and the North Boone School Board for their generous support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Boone County, IL.

Because of their partnership and commitment to our community, more children across Boone County will have access to books in their homes, helping spark a love of reading from an early age.

We are incredibly grateful for their support in helping us put books into the hands of local children and build a brighter future, one story at a time. Together, we make a difference!

On March 4, 2026, we had the pleasure of attending a Belvidere Cosmo Club meeting to accept their incredibly generous $2,500 donation to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Boone County.

The Belvidere Cosmo Club continues its long-standing tradition of service, supporting initiatives that strengthen our entire community. Their partnership helps ensure more children in Boone County receive books each month, building a foundation for lifelong learning and success.

We are so grateful for their continued support and for all that they do! Together, we make a difference!

The Boone County Community Foundation is seeking a highly organized, creative, and mission-driven professional to join our team as Director of Administration and Programs.

This full-time role supports daily operations, oversees scholarship and community grant programs/portals, marketing and communications, donor and community engagement. The ideal candidate enjoys managing multiple priorities, has experience in administration and communications, and is passionate about nonprofit and community work.

Details:
• Full-time (35+ hours/week), exempt
• Salary: $45,000–$55,000, based on experience
• Occasional evenings/weekends for events

💛📚💛 The Stellantis Foundation Joins Community Initiative with $25,000 Grant to Support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Boone County!

Launched in mid-August of 2025 and facilitated by the Boone County Community Foundation in partnership with Belvidere School District 100 and North Boone School District 200, this countywide initiative provides high-quality, age-appropriate books mailed directly to children from birth to age five, at no cost to families.

This generous grant supports a fund held at the Foundation, helping ensure the long-term sustainability of the program so it can continue serving Boone County families for years to come.

💙❄️💙WOW!! What an incredible performance of District 100’s Crosstown Production of Frozen!💙❄️💙

All of the hard work, time, and love poured into this production truly shined through.

It was so awesome to see students and staff from Belvidere High School and Belvidere North High School coming together to create something so special for our community.

Cast, crew, ensemble, production team, costumes, tech crew, running crew, the orchestra, every detail was amazing.

You could feel the heart behind it all. So proud of everyone involved! Bravo!
