Marshall, the Jamaican pig, needs help with something that will COST YOU NOTHING except a few seconds 2x a week. Look at those eyes.

Much of our funding comes from weekly communication that happens on Instagram and Facebook. We don't want to spend money on marketing when that money can be used to help people in Haiti and Jamaica. We need to feed people, support people, and share God’s love.

What can you do? How can you get Marshall the piggie to stop staring? 🐷

Every week, “like”, comment on, or share a KONBIT post. That’s it. You can help us, help them, by helping us communicate with more people. We need our pages to get more traffic 📈, and the only way to accomplish that is to HAVE traffic. Would you be the traffic we need while you scroll? The J-Town (Jamaica) Homework Center is up and running for the 2026-2027 school year! Starting in early September, 3 days a week, or after a call to Keisha for a special project, the homework center is opened. 4 laptops, wifi, and a printer are made available. Students work on projects, learn computer skills, work on literacy, or read. They have access to an adult who loves and cares for them and wants to see then suceed.

Our Meals on 2 Wheels member who went to the Dr last month after a trip in a wheelbarrow, took the same trip this week on horseback. Thank you, Lord, that she is feeling well enough to ride down the mountain. She has health challenges still, but Haiti Health Ministries is taking great care of her! We gave some extra funds this month to help with transport and medication for this precious grandmother.

⚡The KONBIT house in Grand Guave, Haiti, has power again.⚡

Since March 2025, when our staff ran for their lives to escape the gangs invading Lafferonnay, they have lived without electricity. There is no functional power company in Haiti anymore, so...No fans, no lights, no refrigeration, nothing. When the gangs broke into our compound, they stole everything they could use, and that included some of our power system. Thankfully, our staff had gotten some things out and to safety before the invasion, so we did not have to start from square one. This last month, we purchased 4 new batteries and new wiring and paid a technician to install the system. Since then, our staff has been amazed anew at the blessing of light after the sun goes down, fans on hot nights, and a functional refrigerator.

🙏Thank you to and for donations that made this possible. Stanley, Kitson, Mirelle, and tiny Esther, who live in the house, have been so encouraged by God's provision and care. It also makes the Friday kids program much louder since the power means music! 🔊

Dignity preserved with a little green heart for privacy, because I am going to be brutally honest about the situation she faces.

Stanley and Kitson found this sweetheart, whose name we will protect, literally living outside under a tree. DAYS before, her son ran from recent gang violence and left her to fend for herself. She is ill, cannot walk, has bed sores on her sides, and hadn't eaten in who knows how long. Stanley picked her up literally, like an infant, and rushed her to help. This is our speciality and NO ELDERLY saint would be treated like this on HIS watch. They got her to the doctor immediately for evaluation, then they secured a place for her in a home that is under construction but with no roof. They tarped the roof and got her food right away. They also set her up with a temporary care giver and provided food for weeks. Stanley is checking with a local hospital that may be able to help, but in the meantime our temporary caregiver is becoming weary. Now that the emergency portion of her rescue is past, we are faced with quite a few hurdles. She needs many small supplies before the hospital will accept her ($250). She needs to be added to our W2W program because the hospital will not provide her food. ($50 a month or $600 annually).

Would you pray for her, pray for her caregiver, and help us help her? We need to raise these funds as soon as possible so we can secure and protect her.

She will be our 9th Meals on 2 Wheels member and only 6 of them are sponsored. Please help us keep this program going. We need more sponsors.

Did you know that JEAN-JACQUES DESSALINES fought in the American Revolutionary War?

Dessalines Day is celebrated on the anniversary of both his date of birth,
September 20, and his date of death, October 17. He is seen as the father of the Haitian Revolution and served as the leader of Haiti until his assassination at 48 years old.

His leadership in Haiti was pivotal, but he also fought with the 500 free men of color from Haiti (then Saint-Domingue) who fought valiantly alongside American and French forces in the 1779 Battle of Savannah. They formed the largest unit of soldiers of African descent in the entire American Revolutionary War.⁠ If you are ever in Savannah, GA, go see the monument erected in their honor.

In the final words of his memoir of the Revolution, Dessalines’s secretary Adjutant-General Louis-Félix Boisrond-Tonnerre explained the lesson Haitians, and all the oppressed, should draw from Dessalines’s life. “Haitians,” he called out, “whom the bravery of a true hero has lifted out of the anathema of prejudice, in reading this history, you will be able to see with your own eyes the abyss from which he has rescued you. And you, slaves of all countries, you will learn from this great man that every person naturally carries liberty in his heart, and the keys to that liberty are in his own hands.”

KONBIT Kids Camp

The most important aspect of the 3 days spent with these 58 Haitian kiddos was the spiritual investment. Each day, the kids heard a lesson about Christ and living for Him. They learned the importance of spending time with God daily, in worship, Bible reading, and prayer. They were challenged to leave a legacy.

Will you be remembered for a problem you solved or one you created?

Then, from Psalm 1:1-3, they were encouraged to choose their friends wisely and avoid friendships with people who do not help them grow in Christ or help them to make wise decisions.

The Bread of Life every day was followed by literal bread, and the 58 children ate their fill of a hot lunch.

Thank you, Jesus, for 3 days of Joy with these children. What a treasure these little lives are, and we ask that you would protect them and help them to nurture their faith. May they continue to grow in their understanding and relationship with you!

Games were a part of each day's activities. They got wet transfering sponges, they covered each other's faces in flour, and many more games. They laughed; they were little; they were loved, and they LOVED it.

Jesus Brings Joy!

KONBIT Kids Camp spent one day teaching the kids a skill. We brought it 2 skilled knitters, and we gave each child knitting needles and yarn so they could learn. The pride and joy evident on their faces was priceless. We are grateful to the teachers who took the time to give these children this gift. They can use this to make items for themselves, to sell, or as gifts. This can serve them and their families for years to come.

Every day included a Bible lesson, singing, a big meal, and games. More details to come as our last 2 camp posts come out by Saturday! Stay tuned to KONBIT's pages for ALL THE CAMP JOY we have to share!
