Belvidere Firefighters Local 1569

The Belvidere Firefighters Union, a member the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF).

Local 1569 members provide emergency medical services, fire suppression, fire prevention, water rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, and technical rescue to the citizens of Belvidere and anyone who visits. Our members work out of 2 fire houses, including 1 Engine company and 1 Engine/ Truck company. This is a union page and we are a private organization representing the firefighter union and in

no way affiliated with the City of Belvidere or the Belvidere Fire Department. Posts do not necessarily reflect the views of the BFD or Local 1569.

Thank you to the REACT Flight Crew for coming out today and taking the time to work with our crews.

We appreciate the hands-on look at the helicopter and the presentation on landing zones, helicopter safety, and coordinated operations. Training together like this makes a difference when it counts.

Thank you to our winners of the first annual Local 1569 Summer Classic through FishDonkey.
Right to left
David Kays
2nd place Grand Slam Winner, 1st Place Bass division, 2nd place Panfish division, 3rd place Pike division. With a total winnings of $440 David graciously donated $340 dollars of his winnings back to Local 1569

Dennis Kays
Grand Slam Winner, 3rd place Bass division , 3rd place Panfish division, 2nd place Pike division. With a total winnings of $ 460 And $300 dollar St Croix Rod. Dennis graciously donated back $310 dollars of his winnings back to Local 1569

Nathan Kays
3rd place Grand Slam Winner, 2nd Place Bass division, 1st place Panfish division. With a total winnings of $315 Nathan also graciously donated $195 dollars of his winnings back to Local 1569.

Thank you to all of those who participated this year we hope to see you back next year as we grow this event. Also like to thank St. Croix rods and Seviin Reel for providing a rod and reel. Keep a look out for more tournament options to come. Ice fishing season is around the corner more details to come with prize changes and rule changes that you all asked for.

Last night, Chief Shawn Schadle and Mayor Clint Morris had the distinct honor of presenting five Life Saving Awards to individuals whose quick thinking and decisive actions made the ultimate difference.
The recipients of these awards were Lauren Schultz, Rasmus Gotzsche, Matt Loudenbeck, Zach Bullard, and Travis Tangye.
CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life-Support were performed for 20 minutes until the patient regained pulses.
It is always a distinct honor when you get to meet the person that you helped, and be able to hear them say “thank you.”

A huge 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 to the incredible Belvidere Firefighters Local 1569! 🚒💖

This past October, they showed their support for breast cancer awareness in an extraordinary way through their T-shirt fundraiser.

Thanks to their hard work and the community’s generosity, the funds raised have been donated to our Foundation to support the UW Health Breast Health program in northern Illinois.

We are so grateful for their dedication and partnership in helping us provide remarkable care to our community. 💖 Together, we’re stronger in the fight against breast cancer.
