12-16 inches of snow for N. Illinois - Wicked Weekend snowfall update for Illinois. Wednesday morning update!

Here is the latest map with the snowfall forecast through Sunday. Most of the precipitation in Illinois will come down during the day on Saturday into Saturday night early and Sunday morning.

The pink area indicates snowfall amount and excess of 6 inches across a good portion of Northern Illinois, eastern Iowa and Southern, Wisconsin, and portions of Northwest Indiana. Some areas could get over a foot if this forecast model turns out to be correct.

Travel on Thanksgiving day and black Friday should be good, but very cold temperatures are expected.

The map you see is the euro model. Other models suggest a little bit less snow, but all models indicate measurable snow beyond 6 inches.

In a small workshop in the Netherlands, children gather at the Kids Repair Café to fix broken items, guided by patient mentors who teach them the value of repair, reuse, and respect for resources. It’s a simple yet profound movement—an education in sustainability that begins not with lectures, but with hands-on care.

Here, broken toys, lamps, and gadgets become lessons in resilience and mindfulness. The act of repairing transforms into an act of understanding: that waste is not inevitable and that creation and restoration are part of the same cycle. The children learn not just how things work, but how everything is interconnected.

This initiative embodies a deeper philosophy—that wisdom lies in nurturing curiosity and responsibility at an early age. Through these small acts, a generation learns that stewardship of the Earth begins with awareness and patience.

Every fixed object is a small victory for consciousness itself. The Repair Café reminds the world that the future will be shaped not only by what we build but by how we care for what already exists.
