Nick's Place The mission of Nick’s Place is to save lives. Our structured Recovery Residence provides young men.

Nick’s Place offers six residents, 20-26 years of age, the opportunity to interrupt the cycle of addiction for themselves and their future generations. We give our residents the opportunity to recreate and rebuild their lives and relationships with family members that were lost during active addiction. We teach them how to make good decisions, set goals, behave with integrity and build their self-

confidence. In the short term, Nick’s Place allows our young residents the chance to learn the life skills to be confident in everyday living situations. Nick’s Place stresses behavioral and situational changes that must take place to deter relapse factors. We focus on establishing a routine that provides stability and predictability. We find that when residents have a routine to follow it helps reduce their stress level and allows them to focus on learning how to live free of their addiction and prevent relapse.

Our Guys went camping and had a really great time! Learning we can have fun while in recovery can be one of the most important aspects to staying in recovery long term. We asked Our Guys what they liked most about this trip.

Cole enjoyed being in the serenity of nature and the conversations around the fire. He also enjoyed playing spades.

Jason liked swimming in the lake.

Matthew liked the camping experience and was happy to be in a cabin and not a tent. He liked swimming and enjoyed playing Marco Polo.

Will really enjoyed having a campfire. Seeing fish out in the water was a highlight for him.

Josh liked playing spades and swimming.

Zavion really enjoyed the hike and the park atmosphere. He has been inspired to go adventure to bigger parks and travel.

We’re grateful to have been invited to a community celebration hosted by Telemundo, NBC4, and MGM National Harbor! The event celebrated the excitement of the World Cup and the way it brings people together across cultures and communities. It was great connecting with Ava Skyers and Megan Isaacson from MGM National Harbor. We’re already looking forward to coming back for the full tour!
