ARK2Freedom

ARK2Freedom ARK2Freedom, a division of Hope for the Hungry, is committed to preventing exploitation before it begins. There must not exist a “one-man” team!

We educate, equip, and empower youth with the truth that restores hope, builds resilience, and leads to lasting transformation. The ARK Foundation is an interdenominational ministry focusing on assisting adults and children in crisis in Central Texas, and serving other local public and faith-based organizations who have followed Jesus’ example in Luke 4:18 “to proclaim good news to the poor…to pro

claim freedom for the prisoners…to set the oppressed free.”

ARK was founded in 2005. At its conception, funding was raised for university scholarships to students from Haiti. As a result of this funding, many Haitian children were the first in their families and communities to attend a university, and most have now returned home to bless Haiti with doctors, teachers and other homegrown professionals to strengthen the infrastructure of their nation. ARK has always been about following where the Lord leads, and we are excited about this continued direction. The ARK Foundation exists to meet both the spiritual and physical needs that exist among the people God has called us to serve (including trafficked victims, as well as the needs of individuals, organizations and agencies serving these victims). We stress that while physical assistance is scripturally mandated, feeding the body without feeding the spirit, ultimately leads only to death. In meeting the challenges before us, we will not be guided by “organizational affiliation,” but by “affiliation with Christ.” Also, we will endeavor to create an attitude of cooperation between local agencies and mission organizations, churches, and individual Christian and secular activists. We emphasize that in order for an organization to be the viable entity God intends for it to be, it must be composed of the body of Christ, functioning as God intends the body to function. We promote and encourage recognition of our own place and the place of others in the body. We practice praying and caring for each other as two of the many privileges that accompany membership in the body of Christ. We emphasize the practice of intercessory prayer by our actions and through encouraging others in the practice of it. This is especially true of the spread of the Gospel and the fight against the darkness of this world and for those involved in that effort. The Law of the First Fruits is a principle by which we are pleased to abide. As an organization, we give a tithe of all non-designated funds to Christian work which is not necessarily directly related to the ARK Foundation. It is also our intention to remain debt free. We also believe that the Biblical admonition to do all things “decently and in order” particularly applies to Christian organizations. We, therefore welcome opportunities to demonstrate scriptural accountability. While we stress that each employee of the ARK Foundation will be responsible for raising his or her own support, we believe that it is the responsibility of the organization to provide spiritual as well as physical assistance in obtaining that support. Additionally, it is appropriate for the organization to provide the necessary tools for that person to properly perform the task at hand. We also diligently endeavor to establish appropriate minimum and maximum support levels for each work responsibility in order to assure moderate living for each employee.

Purpose gives direction.

Many young people are searching for where they belong and why they matter. The world often tells them their value is based on popularity, appearance, relationships, or success. But God says they were created with intention and purpose.
You are not an accident.
You are not forgotten.
You were created for a reason.
At ARK2Freedom, we want every young person to know they have value, identity, and purpose.

Unity is not just a good idea—it’s a biblical mandate.
Unity strengthens.
Unity protects.
Unity restores.
In a divided world, coming together is not weakness—it’s power.
And when we build unified communities—where people are seen, valued, and supported—we create environments where exploitation cannot easily take root.
Let’s be intentional about building unity:
In our homes
In our churches
In our communities
Because together, we are stronger.

During our time in Rwanda, ARK2Freedom Author Alberta Barrett shared a story from her book about Scarlet the Scarecrow—a story about love, kindness, and identity. And what we witnessed reminded us of something powerful: No matter where we are in the world, the need is the same. Young people need to know: They are seen. They are valued. They have purpose. Every moment matters—because presence builds trust, and trust creates space for truth. And that’s where prevention begins.

Every Moment Matters. 💛
At Girl Talk, it’s more than just a gathering—it’s a space where girls are reminded of who they are.
In a world that constantly tries to define them, we take time to speak truth:
You are valuable.
You are seen.
You have purpose.
Every smile in these pictures represents a girl who is learning to stand in her identity.
And when a girl knows her worth, she becomes less vulnerable to the lies that lead to exploitation.
This is why we do what we do.

Many communities—including AAPI communities—face unique vulnerabilities when it comes to exploitation, often due to language barriers, cultural stigma, or lack of access to resources.
At ARK2Freedom, we are committed to equipping communities with the tools to recognize and prevent exploitation in every culture and context.
