Kate's Crates

Kate's Crates Kate's Crates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit started by cancer survivor, Kate Stevenson. The crates are filled with goodies and delivered to teens battling cancer

Kate’s Crates was started by Kate Stevenson (Callaham), who was diagnosed with Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of sixteen. After being diagnosed on December 28th, 2011, Kate received a total of six rounds of chemotherapy, fourteen radiation treatments, and three months of physical therapy. Kate spent many days and nights being hospitalized at Greenville Children’s Hospital for chemotherapy

or sick visits, and felt The Lord calling her to help other teenagers going through cancer. That is when the idea of Kate’s Crates was born. Kate’s Crates are gift baskets that are geared specifically towards teenage boys and girls that are fighting cancer. Each crate comes with items that brought Kate comfort while she was hospitalized, as well as a hand tied “prayer blanket”. The mission of Kate’s Crates is to remind teenagers going through cancer treatment that they aren’t alone, and that good things can come from hopeless situations.
