Special Recognition and Thanks

The South Carolina Chili Cook-Off Committee would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Gene and Lisa Jameson and Mayor Eleanor Dorn and Richard Dorn for their many years of dedicated service as Committee Co-Chairs.

Through their leadership, hard work, and commitment to the community, the Chili Cook-Off has grown into a successful event that brings people together while supporting local organizations and causes. Their countless hours of planning, organizing, and volunteer service have helped make the event a cherished tradition.

On behalf of the committee, participants, sponsors, and the entire community, we thank Gene, Lisa, Eleanor, and Richard for their outstanding contributions and years of service. Their dedication has left a lasting impact, and their efforts are greatly appreciated. 🌶️❤️🏆

Belton Chili Cook-Off Distributes $28,200 to Local Nonprofits

During the June 9 Belton Standpipe Sounds event, organizers of the 2026 Belton Chili Cook-Off proudly presented checks to six local nonprofit organizations that participated in this year’s cook-off.

Thanks to the tremendous support of the community, the 2026 Belton Chili Cook-Off distributed $28,200 to local organizations, an increase from the $27,000 distributed in 2025.

Each participating organization received $4,700:

▪️Belton Area Museum
▪️ Belton Center for the Arts
▪️ Belton Interfaith Ministries
▪️ Belton Masonic Lodge #130
▪️ American Legion Post No. 51
▪️ Belton Alliance

The annual cook-off continues to serve as a successful community event, bringing residents together while providing valuable financial support to organizations that help make Belton a stronger and more vibrant community.

Covan Cattle Co. really came through, donating 50 lbs of ground beef so that the American Legion could make back up chili for the cooks to use as a base in addition to the 3 gallons of their own chili they brought to serve guests. And guess what? The purchase of bands and tasting tickets was so good that every bit of that chili was eaten and now we are looking forward to donating the proceeds of the festival to 6 non-profits in town! The good just keeps on multiplying!!

So the public event is on Saturday, but did you know the ICS cooks have a second chance to qualify to reach the World Championship at the private cooks-only event called the Kegs N Eggs on Sunday? So here are the results of this sanctioned cook-off. Thanks to everyone who participated and especially to those who won!
