Hear a bit about the YP that brought the concept to Mitchell Co!

Adrina Cunningham moved from Manhattan to Mitchell County after getting married in March of 2025. After her experience with Hype - Manhattan Young Professionals, she knew the concept could make a real impact here, too.

Through Manhattan YP, Adrina grew her network, connected with established community leaders, learned from an incredible mentor, joined a nonprofit board, and gained invaluable personal and professional experience - all things that young people continue to need no matter where they land.

As Discover Mitchell County integrated chamber operations with economic development and tourism in late 2025, Mitchell Co. Young Professionals was adopted into the organization. Following a community-wide info session in November 2025, MCYP officially began coming to life.

Today, over 30 area young professionals are already official members and ready to connect, learn, grow, and invest in the future of Mitchell County.

Outside of MCYP, Adrina serves as the Donor Relations & Communications Coordinator for the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation. As a new mom, she also spends time tinkering in her experimental garden, co-operating a small business with her husband, definitely thrifting somewhere, or hopefully enjoying a long walk somewhere sunny and not windy.
