For the first time, Two-Spirit people from across the state will gather on powwow grounds not as a category squeezed into binaries, but as the center of the circle. The Wisconsin Two Spirit Pow Wow marks a historic first for WI, and will be held at the Woodland Bowl on the Menominee Reservation. Non-Native people are welcome, but that openness comes with responsibility: Visitors are invited to witness and participate in with respect.

The current president’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade is killing kids ❤️‍🩹 There’s no “good” way to share this information — but it’s absolutely critical.

In conjunction with Pride Month, the Trevor Project just published The 2025 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People — a study of more than 16,000 LGBTQ+ young people ages 13-24 across the United States.

The survey found that LGBTQ+youth are often placed at heightened risk for considering and attempting su***de because of how they are mistreated and stigmatized — and the country's hostile political environment, targeting transgender and nonbinary youth in particular, plays a major role.

Key findings include:

• 36% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting su***de in the past year, including 40% of transgender and nonbinary young people.

• 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ young people attempted su***de in the past.

• 90% of LGBTQ+ young people said recent anti-LGBTQ+ laws, policies and debates caused them stress or anxiety.

• More than 1 in 3(38% transgender and nonbinary young people said recent anti-LGBTQ+ politics made them or their families consider moving to a different state.

• LGBTQ+ young people who reported living in very accepting communities attempted su***de at less than a third of the rate of those who reported living in very unaccepting communities.

This is a preventable “problem.”

We HAD a government-supporting Su***de Lifeline for the LGBTQ community.

We HAD leaders who spoke about the LGBTQ community like they were people, too.

We NEED to bring that back ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR PRIDE MONTH FOLLOWING FLAG INCIDENT

Outagamie County, WI— At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, an individual removed the Pride flag displayed at the Outagamie County downtown campus, doused it with gasoline, and attempted to set it on fire.

Outagamie County’s Criminal Justice Unit responded immediately and apprehended the individual. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Outagamie County Jail.

Outagamie County has zero tolerance for destructive, hateful, or threatening behavior of this kind. This incident is being taken seriously, not only because of the dangerous nature of the act, but because it targeted a symbol of inclusion, dignity, and support for members of our community.

A new Pride flag is already flying proudly.

Outagamie County will not be intimidated or deterred from showing its support for all residents. As Pride Month begins, the County stands strong in its commitment to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community.

“This act does not reflect who we are as a county,” said Thomas Nelson, Outagamie County Executive. “We are proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ community today and every day. Attempts to spread fear or division will not succeed here. We have already raised a new Pride flag because Outagamie County remains committed to respect, inclusion, and belonging for all.”

Outagamie County is grateful for the swift response of the Criminal Justice Unit and will continue to support efforts that protect public safety and uphold the values of the community.

For Outagamie County, Pride Month remains an important opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and stand alongside LGBTQ+ residents, employees, families, and visitors. That support remains unwavering.

HAPPY PRIDE — to all who celebrate, and ESPECIALLY those who don’t 😉 Today, Tony Evers is raising the rainbow flag over the Capitol for the eighth & final time as Wisconsin governor ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

It’s pretty crazy the tradition didn’t start until Evers took office — especially considering our state’s long history as an LGBTQ+ trailblazer…

🏳️‍🌈 In 1982, Wisconsin became the FIRST state to pass a law banning discrimination based on sexual orientation.

🏳️‍🌈 And we’re also the first state to elect THREE openly gay or le***an members to Congress: Steve Gunderson, Tammy Baldwin, and Mark Pocan!

After last year’s flag-raising, Evers shared a short & sweet message ⤵️

“You are family here.
You belong here.
You are welcome home here.”

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the federal 'Don’t Say Trans' bill Wednesday in a narrow vote, advancing Republican-backed legislation that would restrict classroom instruction on gender identity, require schools in some cases to out trans students, ban books with transgender characters or content, and restrict student organizations such as Gay-Straight Alliances
