The big day is finally here! 💙 Today we welcome our amazing Head Start children back for another year of learning, growing, playing, and making memories! 🌱🖍️🧸

🎒✨ The First Day of School Is Almost Here! ✨🎒

Starting school is a BIG moment—for little ones AND their grown-ups! 💙 A few simple things can help make the first day feel a little easier.

🌙 1. Get a good night’s sleep
Start bedtime a little earlier and try to keep the evening calm and predictable.

👕 2. Pick out clothes the night before
Let your child help choose their outfit. Having everything ready in the morning means one less thing to worry about!

🎒 3. Pack the essentials
Make sure your child’s backpack is ready with anything they need for the day. Labeling belongings can also help!

🍳 4. Start the morning with enough time
Give yourself extra time so you don’t have to rush. A calm morning can set the tone for a great day.

👋 5. Keep goodbyes short & positive
It’s completely normal for your child to feel nervous or cry. Give them a hug, remind them you’ll be back, and trust their teachers to help them settle in.

😊 6. Talk positively about school
Ask questions like, “What do you think you’ll play with today?” or “I can’t wait to hear about your day!”

💙 7. Remember that adjustment takes time
The first day doesn’t have to be perfect! Your child may need a few days—or even a few weeks—to feel comfortable with a new routine.

✨ Most importantly, give yourself grace! You’re learning this new routine together, and every small step is a success.

Send an encouraging message, hold the door open, volunteer your time, surprise someone with a thoughtful gesture, or simply let a loved one know you're thinking of them. Small acts of generosity can have a lasting impact and help create stronger, more connected communities.
