La Ciudad de Beloit el miércoles pasado entregó La Proclamación Oficial de la Herencia Hispana a la profesora Maria Elena White (Beloit LULAC 338 member y directora de la Voz de Beloit) y al profesor Tulio Durán (Presidente de Beloit LULAC #338 y trabajador del Distrito Escolar de Beloit) como reconocimiento a toda la comunidad latina.

Es un gran honor recibir el reconocimiento a nombre de la comunidad Latina donde se reconocen los valores, costumbres, tradiciones y gran aportacion laboral y fe de todos los latinos que residen en Estados Unidos.

El Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana se celebra del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre.
Este período abarca la celebracion de las fiestas patrias latinoamericanas, como:
15 de septiembre: Independencia de Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras y Nicaragua
16 de septiembre: Independencia de México
18 de septiembre: Independencia de Chile
12 de octubre: Conmemoración del Día de la Raza.

Here are my biggest take aways from today’s sessions:

🇺🇸 Carlos Eduardo Espina gave us a powerful reminder that creating content on social media is not just entertainment, it is a tool for change. The future belongs to those who work with the times, not against them.

🇺🇸 “If you don’t do it yourself, who will?”

🇺🇸 By 2045, 1 in 3 Americans will be Latino. That economic and political power is what scares those who work to oppress.

🇺🇸 Leadership belongs to the present generation.

🇺🇸 In Texas battles over redistricting, gerrymandering, voter suppression and immigration show why representation is not optional. Vote always.

🇺🇸 LULAC proved what’s possible when you keep fighting. They filed a lawsuit and won in federal court to protect birthright citizenship and prevent children from becoming stateless.

🇺🇸 Climate change is an intersectional issue. Extreme heat is one of the most dangerous impacts to human health.

🇺🇸 The Repatriate Our Patriots movement works to bring home deported U.S. veterans (yes, you read that right, our government has allowed for the deportation of veterans) by fighting for legal status, VA benefits, and keeping the promise that no sre

Pasen el miércoles por Telfer park ahí estaremos

Turn on your porch light and join your neighbors for the annual National Night Out celebration! From neighborhood block parties to our big event at Telfer Park, National Night Out celebrates community and partnerships as we work together to make a safer city.

This year, the City of Beloit Police Department is holding the celebration on two days to accommodate the traditional block parties while continuing the success of the growing community event at Telfer Park.

• Tuesday, August 5: National Night Out Block Parties
• Wednesday, August 6: Community National Night Out Event at Telfer Park

Get the neighborhood block party application at www.beloitwi.gov/police. Applications are due by Friday, August 1, by contacting Capt. Christopher Eberhardt at [email protected].

The National Night Out event will be held at 5pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Telfer Park, 2101 Cranston Road. Join for free food, demonstrations, police and fire equipment. Multiple community resources and non-profit organizations will be there to show their support for the community.

¡Encienda la luz del porche y únase a sus vecinos para celebrar el
evento anual de National Night Out! Desde fiestas vecinales hasta nuestro gran evento en Telfer Park, National Night Out celebra la comunidad y las alianzas mientras trabajamos juntos para hacer de nuestra ciudad un lugar más seguro.

Este año, el Departamento de Policía de la Ciudad de Beloit celebrará el evento durante dos días para incluir tanto las tradicionales fiestas vecinales como el exitoso evento comunitario en Telfer Park.

• Martes 5 de agosto: Fiestas vecinales de "Noche Nacional de la Comunidad” (National Night Out)
• Miércoles 6 de agosto: Evento comunitario de "Noche Nacional de la Comunidad” en Telfer Park

The Rising Tide Center is independently funded by The Rising Tide Foundation, Inc. 501(c)(3). Located in a renovated former junior high school building in a dense residential neighborhood of Beloit, Wisconsin, the newly founded community center has over 75,000sf and 18+ acres of land.
