Rotary International has concluded its global convention in Taipei, Taiwan. The global gathering drew over 37,000 Rotary members from more than 140 countries, and featured speakers including Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai.

Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay was proud to send our district leader Mendezona Griffiths. Mitone exemplifies Rotary's spirit of service, leadership, and international connection. Her dedication to humanitarian projects, disaster relief, youth development, and global partnerships has touched lives both locally and around the world.

The 2026 Rotary International Convention brought together thousands united by a shared mission: creating lasting change through service, fellowship, and goodwill. As Rotary continues to Unite for Good, leaders like Mitone inspire us to strengthen our communities while building bridges across cultures and continents.

RYLA need several more people to serve as facilitators for this summer’s camp. They work in pairs to guide a team of a dozen high school students through camp. Must be at camp in Scotts Valley July 31 to August 5 and undertake online training. Give back! Grow your skills! Have the BEST week of your life! If not you, someone you know age 18 to 80. Kicking off the last month of the Rotary year in June introducing two new members, Sami Freitas, Suong Luu. Mary Bates from the Foster City Rotary spoke about starting their new Satellite Rotary Club, offering more flexibility and ideas on increasing Rotary membership. Good showing..25 live in attendance, 5 on zoom. Also.. President Barbara Gablin and member Jack Murray toasting the Rotary year!

We’re honored to share a few thank you letters from local 3rd graders who received dictionaries through the Belmont Redwood Shores Rotary Club Dictionary Project. From improving spelling and reading to discovering new words and building confidence, these notes remind us how meaningful a simple book can be.

Thank you to everyone who supports literacy, education, and community service programs that help inspire the next generation of learners.

TEACHER MINI GRANT TESTIMONIAL...so rewarding..Service Above Self, giving back to the community and supporting education.

Dear Rotarians,
First and foremost, I want to give a heartfelt thank you. Years ago, when I was in high school, I was President of the Interact Club, and attending the dinner brought back so many memories of the work we did to support our community.

Thank you so much for supporting Nesbit’s seventh-grade PE program through the $500 mini-grant. I am truly grateful for your investment in our students and our school community.

At Nesbit, we continue to empower our students to have a voice. This year, several students asked me to coach track and field, knowing that I also coach at Carlmont. I told them that if they could get enough students together, I would do it. To my surprise, they gathered 22 students from Sandpiper and Nesbit who were ready to participate. It was a wonderful reminder of how strong our community is when students are given the opportunity to lead.

With this funding, we were able to purchase relay batons, volleyballs, a volleyball net, and stopwatches. These materials have already brought so much joy to our students. Before, students would often stand in a circle and bump the volleyball around. Now, they can actually play full games and competitively, too! The batons have also helped increase interest in running and relay activities during PE.

Making physical activity more enjoyable has brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Thank you again for your generosity and support.

Thank you Sirinee Tippakorn for your leadership and contributions as International Belmont Redwood Shores Rotary club Chair, together with Rotary club of Bangkapi in Bangkok, Thailand, we installed a clean drinking water system for a school in western province, Prachuab Khireekha. It is the third school that we better the children’s lives with clean drinking water.
