Students from our after-school music program gave their end-of-year recital last week! The program included Spirituals such as "Deep River," fiddle tunes like "Wrassled with a Wildcat," and several folk songs. In addition to performing, the students also wrote their own program notes, introduced several pieces, and helped lead the ensemble.

You can catch the students performing again this Sunday, June 14 from 12:00-12:30 at the Taunton River Festival in Weir Village Riverfront Park!

Our students have been hard at work preparing for year-end performances! Join us this Thursday, June 4 at 5:45 PM for our student recital at Pilgrim Congregational Church (45 Broadway in Taunton). The program includes classical music, fiddle tunes, Spirituals, jazz, and more. A community meal (pizza) will follow. The recital and the pizza dinner are both free and open to the public!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our final community concert of the 2025-2026 season! Lines and Spaces teaching artists performed string music by Daron Hagen, Leilehua Lanzilotti, and Handel-Halvorsen. Plus, students from our free after-school program played Miles Davis' tune "So What" alongside guest artist Cris Fagundes (trumpet).

The concert was part of ArtWeek SouthCoast 2026 and was funded in part by grants from the Taunton Cultural Council and the Creative SouthCoast Initiative Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation.

Our free community concert is happening this Saturday, May 16 at 4PM at the Pilgrim Congregational Church of Taunton (45 Broadway). Join us for string music by W.A. Mozart, Daron Hagen, and more! Audience members of all ages are welcome and there will be an activity for children. The concert will feature a special appearance by students from Lines & Spaces' after-school program, who will perform a Miles Davis tune alongside guest artist Cris Fagundes (trumpet). Students from our after-school program had a blast learning about the trumpet 🎺 during a recent workshop with musician Cris Fagundes! We are honored to receive a grant in support of our upcoming community concert from the Creative SouthCoast Initiative Fund of the SouthCoast Community Foundation!

The concert will take place May 16 at 4 PM at Pilgrim Congregational Church (45 Broadway Taunton, MA) and will feature music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Leilehua Lanzilotti, Daron Hagen, and more.
