At Barrett, you will find the The Hideout (for Middleschoolers) and the Belmont Community Learning Center (preschool & day care), as well as ongoing afterschool kids programs. The playground area and field are open to the public whe

n not in use for a scheduled activity. All dogs must remain on leash at all times (Ordinance B.C.C. Section 5-6(1))

As we head into the summer months, here are a few reminders about the Barrett field:
-Morning off-leash hours are Monday – Friday, 7 – 8 a.m. ONLY

-Evening off-leash hours will begin on June 17th and will be Monday – Friday, 7 – 8 p.m. ONLY

-Dogs are not allowed on the field in any capacity outside of these hours

-Do not allow your dog to dig on the field

-Please clean up after your dog

As many of you have seen at our open houses or by visiting the site, our beloved 73-year-old Barrett Community Center was built as a school and is now well beyond its useful life. Meanwhile, the Belmont community of today and tomorrow needs a modern facility that meets current accessibility, earthquake, and fire safety standards.
