Whooo’s watching who, exactly? 😳

This gorgeous Barred Owl was spotted just hanging out by one of our regular visitors! Although they’re most active at night, dusk, and dawn, you can still spot these birds hunting and calling during the day. Keep your eyes peeled 🦉

Meet Julia, our newest TerraCorps service member 🥾 Some fun facts about Julia:

Favorite spot at Habitat: Highland Farm when goldenrod is in bloom
Favorite goat: I love them all equally! But definitely have a soft spot for Kudzu :)
Favorite season: Late summer into early fall

Julia will be working as the Land Stewardship Coordinator, focusing on natural resource management and ecological restoration projects. We're excited to work with her over the next year!

Raptors and other wildlife need you. If you've enjoyed connecting with the wildlife ambassadors at Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm and Blue Hills Trailside Museum, now's your chance to speak up for these species.

Soon, the state legislature’s Mass Ready Act Conference Committee will decide whether to adopt an amendment permitting towns to ban the use of anticoagulant rodent poisons, which are harming thousands of wildlife and pets in Massachusetts every year, on all property (including private).

Sign by September 30! We need the Conference Committee to hear from as many supporters as possible before they decide. Let’s get this amendment included in the final version of the Mass Ready Act to protect our wildlife and pets.

Have you seen these vibrant red dragonflies lately?

Autumn Meadowhawk dragonflies emerge much later than other species, and now is the perfect time to see them. They don't achieve their iconic red coloring until reaching maturity in August and September and stay active well into the fall. Walk by Turtle Pond and through the lower meadow, and you're sure to see them flying around.
