We have been members of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies (NCLEES) since inception!🇺🇸🇮🇪🚔 Any active or retired MA LEO are welcome to join us! ☘️ The IAPOA was founded in 1999 by a small group of police officers, it was the vision of Kevin Shea of the Belmont Police. att from Boston PD , Steve Lyons from Cambridge PD , Dave Collins from Watertown PD, Robert Ahern from State Police and Robert Casey from Boston University Police Department. Our mission was to provide social networking among active and retired police officers of Irish heritage, support designated local charities and to recognize outstanding official acts by police officers across the state for acts of Valor, Life-saving, Investigations, Meritorious Service, Community Service, Humanitarian Acts and also to honor officers killed in the line of duty with the Medal of Honor, presented posthumously. The IAPOA is an all-volunteer group of active and retired police officers from local, county, university and State Police as well as Corrections Officers and Federal Agents. Statement by CPPOA Executive Board - Officer Involved Shooting (OIS)

On Friday evening, August 21, several of our members performed heroically in a rapidly evolving lethal encounter with an armed and dangerous individual and responded in accordance with their professional training.

No officer ever wants to encounter a situation where lethal force is necessary. But police sometimes have no other option in the protection of citizens and themselves.

The Cambridge Police Patrol Officers Association stands behind our members and their professionalism in dealing with this armed and dangerous individual. We will continue to support them in this difficult time following the traumatic and high-stress encounter Friday evening.

The Worcester Police Department is actively seeking Karen Solomon regarding the death of a male at her residence. She is a 58-year-old white female with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing pajama shorts and a tank top. She was last seen on foot, walking towards Westcott Street. There is concern she may be armed.
