We, members of the American labor movement, mourn the loss of life in Israel and Palestine. We express our solidarity with all workers and our common desire for peace in Palestine and Israel, and we call on President Biden and Congress to push for immediate ceasefire and end to the siege of Gaza.

As you give Thanks this season, please make a donation to support children and families living through impossible hardship.

Doctors without borders & NAAcP are two of our recommendations.

Here is another suggestion that is especially important this year:

This month our standout will be dedicated to supporting the global ceasefire now movement. We believe in the rights of all people to live safely and free of discrimination and persecution. Join us to standup for our neighbors in Israel & occupied Palestine and across the globe in places like Sudan, Congo and US border where innocent lives are being endangered & lost at alarming rates and where not enough is being done by US government to protect them.

The standout is on Waverley MBTA bridge from 5-5:30.

Then go home & CALL YOUR ELCTEDs (for us in MA that’s Elizabeth Warren, Ed Markey, Jake Auchincloss, Ayanna Pressley, Jim McGovern, Lori Trahan, Richard Neal, Bill Keating, Steve Lynch & Katherine Clark! … don’t forget to call the White House, too!)

Please note that after the standout there is a candlelight vigil organized in Belmont center at 5:30 that you may wish to join. Feel free to bring your ceasefire signs & request prayers for ceasefire. (Edited to say organizers of vigil prefer no signs & to focus on their prayers)
