Nanny Love foundation is seeking to change what has been the norm in Montessori
early childhood education. Over decades It has been provided to the upper income
level households isolating the lower income families the affordability due to the
increased tuitions. Maria Montessori initially opened the Casa dei Bambini Children’s
House to provide education to low-income children in Rome. The Montesso
ri Method
was later criticized which caused educators to fall out of favor with Maria’s method. Forty
years later it was brought back by a group of parents. Historically there has been a color
line that divides us in education and employment. There have been huge gaps in the
educational outcomes for minority children and unequal access to key educational
resources. Minority families and teachers were never in the loop when it came to the
Montessori education. Our goal is to bring awareness to the minority communities of an
education that can give minority children the same quality start as any upper income
community. Our plan is to financially assist children, assist minority individual in
becoming qualified teachers and individuals interested in starting a Montessori school in
the minority neighborhoods. Minority children get an opportunity to a Montessori
education which provides the Montessori approach to learning with observation of the
child, allow children meaningful experiences in a prepared environment that is guided
by trained guides. Maria Montessori believed the “children’s minds were like sponges
and that they have an innate desire to learn.” This applies to ALL children regardless of
their social economic status. We work hard everyday to better the lives of our charity's recipients through our many causes — Including Feeding the homeless , Donating toward Montessori teacher education and donating to assist parents with Montessori childcare fees, just to name a few.
