Bellville Ohio Lions Club

Bellville Ohio Lions Club 🦁 The Bellville Lions Club proudly serves our community through compassion, connection, and action. Together, We Serve. 💛

From local projects to global impact, we’re dedicated to making a difference every day. The Lions Clubs International began in 1917, when a Chicago businessman named Melvin Jones had a simple but powerful idea: “What if people put their talents to work improving their communities?”

What started as a small group of service-minded individuals soon grew into a global movement. By 1925, Lions took on

their signature mission of supporting the blind and visually impaired, inspired by Helen Keller’s call for them to become “knights of the blind.”

Over the decades, Lions expanded their reach — fighting hunger, protecting the environment, empowering youth, supporting disaster relief, and promoting health and humanitarian causes. Today, more than 1.4 million Lions in over 200 countries carry forward that same spirit of service. From big cities to small towns, we are united by one motto:
“We Serve.”

The Bellville Lions Club proudly continues this legacy — serving our neighbors, strengthening our community, and making a difference every day. 💛

Bellville Lions Club members are removing flags today. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to slip the registration in the water bill anymore, per village council decision. We will place forms at the Post Office by February 2026! Thank you for participating in our flag program to honor our country, veterans, and service men and women 🇺🇸

Diabetes Awareness Month means a lot to me,
because I live it every single day.

It’s the one month a year where I feel truly seen,
understood, and supported for something
that quietly shapes every part of my life.

This chronic illness steals energy, joy, and peace of mind.
It isolates you in ways most people will never notice.
It turns simple things, eating, sleeping, living,
into a constant balancing act.

But it’s also taught me strength, discipline, and resilience.
It’s shown me how powerful quiet perseverance can be.

So this month isn’t just about awareness,
it’s about recognition.
For everyone silently fighting numbers,
navigating highs and lows,
and choosing to keep showing up anyway.

Because living with diabetes isn’t easy,
but we do it every day,
and that deserves to be seen.

Many people think diabetes is only about sugar.

It can make you gain weight too.

Because insulin controls fat storage not only sugar consumption.

When insulin is always high, your body holds on to fat like a savings account it refuses to touch.

That’s why many diabetics say:
“I eat less, I exercise, but the scale won’t move!”

It’s not because you’re lazy.

It’s not because you lack discipline.

It’s because your insulin is stuck on “storage mode.”

When you fix insulin resistance, weight loss becomes natural.

Your body finally starts burning fat instead of hoarding it.

So don’t chase the scale first.

Chase insulin balance. The weight will follow.

Start by reducing sugar, moving after meals, and adding more fiber and protein to your plate.
