As EMS Week comes to an end, we’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate some of our members’ achievements.
Over the last few months, our members have:
🚑 Responded to 550+ calls for service
🚑 Accepted and onboarded over 10 new members, with additional applicants currently in process
🚑 Provided standby coverage and mutual aid support alongside neighboring agencies and community partners, including parade coverage for the Wantagh Fire Department, regional sporting events, ECG screenings with Mount Sinai South Nassau in Massapequa, and standbys for Point Lookout-Lido FD
🚑 Assisted with community education initiatives, including a bleeding control presentation and hands-on skills demonstration for Mepham staff led by members teaching their former teachers
We are also proud of the accomplishments achieved by our members in recent months, including:
🩺 8+ members clearing as EMTs and Drivers, along with 10+ Observer clearances
🚦 5 members becoming certified EVOC instructors
🎓 5 collegiate graduates and many students returning home from college
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and paid staff who continue serving the Bellmore-Merrick community day and night.
At Bellmore-Merrick EMS, our members continue to support, mentor, and push one another to grow, both on and off the ambulance, and we are proud of everything they continue to accomplish together.
